    and leg injuries 2 years in a row doesn't seem great for a catcher's future. I love Willson but If they right move is there it has to be made.

    Not watching/listening but from Twitter I'm gathering Theo also mentioned there is a candidate that's on a staff in the playoffs. Acknowledged candidates - Ross - 1 from current Cubs staff - 1 from a team in the playoffs

    I'm rooting for Cubs/Cardinals to flip spots from last year - eliminated team beats the division leader enough to allow the Brewers to force game 163. Not sure who I would want more to lose 2 games in a row for a spot in the NLDS

    The Brewers doing what they did last year (now without Yelich) would be annoying, but holy crap the Cubs with forfeit lineups stopping the Cardinals from winning the division would be beautiful.

    The many times spurned by professional athletes Chicago sports fan in me recognizes those as quotes like what I hear before they go elsewhere. But honestly with the past two offseasons his agent has to realize he's probably not getting better than what's left on that contract.

    He dropped weight and moved to TE over the offseason (at the request of the Bears), he was cut before the Redskins game because they had to get another defensive lineman on the roster

    I don't know if there is already a successor in place, but San Francisco makes sense too. Veteran that is past his usefulness is a very Giants of the last couple of years move.

    The only in-game moment I remember from the end of 2004 is losing 2-1 in a game Prior dominated. The rest of mostly just a blur of saying "We just need to go 5-5, there's no way we can miss then." that was the moment for me and perfectly enough, it's starting to feel like 2-1 reds on wednesday night because the 2004 moment was also against the reds Victor Diaz (haha, that game was also a Prior gem 7.2 IP, 4H, 2BB, 0R... late 2004 Prior was unreal considering what came before and after it)

    I found these numbers yesterday when I was looking around at stuff on spotrac. The numbers look pretty up to date (and have Zobrist salary pro-rated) 2019 actual salary - 220,259,847 2019 projected Competitive balance Payroll - 234,759,847 Tax - 6,803,151 On their site they list the final Est. Payroll + Tax Bill as 241,562,998 So the estimated actual dollars spent in 2019 would be $227,062,998
