Mark Prior's 2005 Salary: $3,550,000 Carlos Zambrano's 2005 Salary: $3,760,000 Considering Aramis is locked up, and the fact Lee couldn't possibly ask for a 10 million dollar raise, we'd only have to boost our payroll maybe 15-18 million to keep those 4. AKA stop paying Sosa 16 mil to play in baltimore and wham, there's their money.

    Alfonso Soriano - Second Baseman The New York Daily News believes the Twins are close to acquiring Alfonso Soriano for a package that would include Kyle Lohse. J.C. Romero and Bret Boone have also been linked to the discussions, although the Dail News doesn't mention either.     I didn't really think through all the ramifications, like I said, I'm just hopefully wishing for ANYTHING to happen that ends with Manny in LF for the Cubs. Hell, any end result in which we make a deal that lands Soriano, Dunn, or Manny would make me pleased. I don't want Kearns or Willy Mo.

    Trading for Gerut seems like a bust so far, we're getting more out of him than we were Dubois. Although Ben Grieve was 10 times the pinch hitter Gerut is turning out to be.

    Okay, Aramis and CPatt for Manny and Mueller straight up isn't fair; Let alone throwing in Mitre and Wellemeyer. Wow, I heard this analogy on the score: "It's basically like moving Aramis to left and Murton to third, and taking on 9 mil in salary and getting older." Which is 100% true. I generally like Steve Stone but wow...
