  2. I'm also a Kearns fan. I would love to see him in Cubbie blue.
  3. yeah right he had all offseason to fix the bullpen, that worked out well didn't it? He will do like he always does and wait until the deadline. Again it will be too late. How was he too late in 2003? He didn't even wait until the deadline. And in 2004 it was too late? I'm sorry, but we lost because of what happened in the last 10 days (or so). Not because Hendry waited 10 days (??) too long to make a trade. The Reds are a bad team b/c of their pitching, not their offense, which is one of the best offenses the Cubs will face this year.
  4. You haven't been a Cubs fan very long? have you?
  5. Novoa & Hairston made the doubters sound foolish!
  6. Bases loaded 2 outs, Aurila slices a looper into short RCF & JHJR makes a diving play to his left, unbelievable!!!
  7. Walker should have been covering, not Neifi, that according to Brenly.
  8. He has been doing well lately. Florida would probably ask too much for him. He was overused with the Dodgers LY, that concerns me a little. He's just a younger version of Tom Gordon. I'll pass
  9. I am in no way going to bash Kenny Williams. Exec of the Year in my opinion...... He has done a good job, but in no way has anything been determined yet. I don't think the White Sox are built to succeed in the playoffs, just my opinion. A 1st round exit would not suprise me one bit. If anyone in the front office deserves the credit, it is Ozzie Guillen, he is the main reason the White Sox are were they are, not K.Williams.
  10. Look for him to start tomorrow. Just a hunch.

  12. I remember one time, I went fishing, and had a carp on the line, but I lost it. That made me happy because I didn't lose my tackle. :D 8) Carpenter still hasn't shown he can stay healthy during the duration of a season. No Carp in the WS hurt the Cards big time LY.
  13. Neifi is not a proven ML 3rd baseman, he is a SS. The move your suggesting makes no sense.
  14. I wonder if 1 more trip through the rotation with long outings would be enough to convince people that 7 relievers is a waste. Remlinger has 4 IP in 4 outings in July. About 4 guys have had just 1 inning of work since the break. This is seriously not good for the bullpen. Cubs==Terminally Dumb. Meanwhile, Ben Grieve is a quality PH option on the bench who we jettison, AND we keep Jose Macias as one alternative. Dumb dumb dumb. Does Grieve have lice or something?? Macias is the teams' only back-up 3rd baseman. That is why Grieve was sent down.
  15. OMFG just send Cedeno down instead of rotting him on the bench. Who would you rather have as a back-up SS? Enrique Wilson?? Cedeno starting SS, Perez back-up until Garciaparra comes back. Dusty has already made it known that Neifi is his starting SS, so it's repeditively annoying everytime Cedeno is not in the line-up,someone has to complain about it. It is what it is, so get use to it. BTW, I would also rather see Cedeno in there everyday, but you don't here me b&c about it everyday. Add Nate Frese to the 40-man and make him the backup to Neifi. Return Ronny to AAA and let him play everyday. only info I could find on Frese: Latest News Feb. 18, 2004 - 5:53 am et Nate Frese, who was invited to Cubs camp as a non-roster player, broke his leg in a farm accident last week. He's expected to miss the entire season. Frese must have broken the leg in multiple places. The 26-year-old minor league veteran wasn't considered a real candidate to make the Cubs out of spring training. Source: Chicago Tribune

  18. On WGN's SportsCentral a while ago, the said that Murton would be starting today.... but didn't give the whole lineup. Starting Lineup Name AVG HR RBI SB 1. M Lawton, RF .274 10 40 10 2. 19. Maybe a 3rd team would have to get invovled. I see one player we want from the Yanks, Hideki Matsui From what I've heard Matsui is untouchable.
  20. Maybe a 3rd team would have to get invovled.
  21. Wagner would be a great pick-up, but whomever gets him will overpay for a possible 2 month rental closer. Philly is still in the WC race & the East division. If they are still in the thick of it come July 31st, he may not even be moved.
  22. full of holes? I think the bullpen is one arm away from solidifying. That was a bit harsh I guess..But I can't seem to trust Wuertz or Novoa. I agree with you on those two. Both have very good stuff, just need to show more consistentcy. I am a little worried Dusty has overused Wuertz this year & he might slip a little in the 2nd half. If the Cubs acquire a McDougal or Baez @ the deadline, they can plug one of those guys in the 8th with Ohman as the situational lefty & Williamson as either a set-up guy or 7th inning guy. Weurtz and/or Novoa should be relegated to 6th or 7th inning duty. Remlinger should be traded b/c Dusty still hasn't figured out how to properly use him & Mitre & Rusch are the long men out of thee pen. It wouldn't suprise me if one of either Mitre or Rusch is moved @ the deadline.
