    I love my baby daughter, I love cheeseburgers. clearly I am not talking about the same emotion. similarly, I hate the guy who murdered my aunt, and I hate the Cardinals. again, not talking about the same emotion. our language can be fairly imprecise, so sometimes you go with the word that's convenient. I personally don't think that we sound like Sox fans when saying "I hate the Cardinals" because Sox fans typically aren't passionate enough about baseball to say that all too often. when I start saying "Sox suck" when clearly they do not, then come talk to me about sounding like a Sox fan. I hate Rainy days and Mondays, so I know what you're saying. Oh my God. Did I just quote the Carpenters? :pukel: Hey, when the Cubs beat the Cards I feel like I'm on top of the world lookin down on creation......

    I like Diaz but I don't think he is a difference maker. He is also a guy without a position. They've tried him everywhere and he has stunk it up in the field. I do think he is a Chicagoan though. Isn't he the guy that hit the killer HR against us in 2004 late in the year? The one that tied the game in the bottom of the ninth? In mid-September in Shea off of LaTroy? Yeah, that's him. It was a Saturday afternoon game on FOX.

    There is no way we can put together a package good enough to land Abreu without seriously hurting ourselves. Our abundance of pitchers from a few years ago had most of the prospects either get traded away in other deals, or not live up to their potential. We have the arms to get him, but then it would take a while to build it back up again. Don't get me wrong, I would love Abreu, I just don't think we can get him. Besides, Abreu is 32. He maybe has five good/decent years left in him. Some of the prospects we'd trade, should they pan out, would have 10-15.

    maybe they're going to have him take rusch's spot and call up hill/guzman. Or have Hill/Guzman take Rusch's spot and keep Williams where he is.
