I just turned on the game and saw it was 5-0. I tuned in just in time to see Cedeno hit the double play. I now plan to enjoy the rest of my afternoon.

I DOUBT you are in the minority (except for using the term Cubby/Cubbies). I think most people want Kerry to be a Cub for life, because that means he's pitching to his potential which is elite-type stuff. I think only once - last year. You really don't like Wood do you? Quite the contrary. He's one of my favorite Cubs. I'm just sick of him starting every year on the DL. I also want him to be a Cub for life.

I don't believe so. I think it sends a message to him and anyone else that that sort of behavior will not be tolerated.

I would get rid of the following people: MacPhail Hendry Baker Clines Matthews Pole Rothschild Pierre Jones Rusch Bynum Perez Would that send enough of a message? Right now, any major change is going to have to come from the Trib. Dusty won't do anything to his players. Hendry won't do anything to Dusty. MacPhail won't do anything to Hendry. Any major organizational change would have to come from over MacPhail's head. I totally agree with sending a message, though. Although Dusty could send one heck of a message himself if he'd bench players who didn't play hard. That would put a stop to it real quick. But, it won't happen because Dusty is too concerned with being everyone's friend rather than punishing poor/lacksidasical play.

Someone has GOT to go for the current futility. The players look completly useless out there.... they look listless and play with little to no emotion. They don't look like they care if they win or lose. Looks like Dusty hasn't used his magical motivation skills lately. This is also the 4th losing streak of 7 games or more under Dusty since Opening Day of last year. The pitching staff started the losing streak off pretty well, and lost only really because the hitting was terrible. But now it stinks. Prior and Wood are perpetually hurt (change in mechanics?). The pitching has gone belly-up. And it doesn't look to be getting better. The hitting...... oh, the hitting. Where do I start? This offense was on one of the worst 10-game stretches in recent memory, and possibly in baseball history. Yes, we lost our best hitter probably until the All-Star break, but that doesn't account for the absolute suckitude that the hitting has shown lately. Clines obviously isn't helping. My biggest fears are either us pulling out of it, but still sucking, but not badly enough for Baker to lose his job, or B) The bottom completely falling out, Dusty stays, and by the time Wood and Prior come back, we'd be too far in the hole for it to matter. Clines, Rothschild, and Baker all need to go. They're not getting it done.
