  1. No-hitter is broken up. We've got them right where we want them now!
  2. Dustyball is still around! Lou might need to resort to drastic tactics. I suggest that anybody who swings at the first pitch and doesn't get a hit should get caned. Around July last year I'd actually have been in favor of that punishment.
  3. Saw that coming. 2-0 Cincinatti. [expletive] you, Carlos.
  4. Kind of an odd call there. Oh well, at least there's a runner on 1st.
  5. Damn, 2 down. There's a lag of about 3-4 seconds between the radio and TV.
  6. No, the one who was on Florida. Ok, good. Then I won't cheer for him to get hit in the head.
  7. Which Alex Gonzales is at short for the Reds? Not OUR A-Gonz, is it?
  8. AAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH HUGHES IS ON THE AIR!!! IT'S ALMOST HERE!!! I CAN SMELL IT!! AFTER A LONG WINTER BASEBALL IS FINALLY BACK!! AAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! /hyperventilates
  9. Hmmm..... sounds like your wife and mine are related. Haha. She's actually pretty cool about it. She doesn't care much for baseball, but she lets me enjoy it and actually lets me turn on the game if we're driving somewhere. God, but do I love that woman. There are women that won't let you turn on the game when you love the team? Kill me before I get married. That's going to be big fight. It becomes "Who do you love more, them or me" sometimes-the trick is to not get it to that point. Let up sometimes, make compromises to not have to watch every game live (with a DVR that's much easier), and it makes it much easier to watch plenty of games :D We have several TVs in our house, so I can just go into another room. Or, I can just bust out a walkman and listen to it on 720.

  11. Second Fav behing Xmas? C'mon it's my favorite! Bah-Humbug! Nothing beats baseball opener... Well, the dissapointment brought on by about May or so takes some of the luster out of Opening Day, but I drive my wife crazy with my winter countdown. "Hey honey, guess what today is?" "What? Tuesday?" "No! 34 days until Opening Day!!!" "I want a divorce"
  12. You'll hear no boo's... A-Rod could save a bus full of nuns and they'd still boo him.
  13. God do I love Opening Day. My second favorite day of the year (behind Christmas). I've waited all winter to hear Pat Hughes say "Chicago Cubs baseball is ON THE AIRRR, from the Great American Ballpark in Cincinatti...."
  14. What will their relationship with WGN be like? As long as they're on WGN radio still I'll be ok with it.
  15. *brushing off the Game Thread forum cobwebs* Whew. It smells funny in here. Anyway, I'm cautiously optimistic about this season. I can't bring myself to be anything more than that because I know they'll rip my heart out if I am. Go Cubbies! Shut 'em down today, Z!
  16. Rate my team. Standard yahoo 12 team 5x5 h2h C- Joe Mauer 1B- Albert Pujols 2B- Rickie Weeks 3B- Bill Hall SS- Felipe Lopez OF- Manny Ramirez OF- Michael Cuddyer OF- Hideki Matsui UTL- Adrian Gonzalez BN- Chone Figgins BN- Pat Burrell SP- Carlos Zambrano SP- Brandon Webb RP- JJ Putz RP- Tom Gordon P- Dontrelle Willis P- Andy Pettite P- Tom Glavine BN- Greg Maddux BN- Tim Hudson BN- Annibal Sanchez There was a jerk in my league who picked the crappiest players possible and plans to win "soley off of waiver and FA moves", so my team is a little more stacked then it would be originally.
  17. Blood clots are scary things. My dad had one when I was in 5th or 6th grade and could have very realistically lost his arm. Thank god the blood thinners worked and he has full use of it.
