  1. No, I'm just trying to stifle the sentiment that Lou cost us the game. It wasn't a smart move, but the team's piss poor performance for 8.2 innings back him into a corner. I'm a fan of alliteration. Good on you.
  2. Yes, hurrah. The Cubs lost a game! Boy, I think I'm gonna party tonight! Seriously. Grow up. Irony Yes. I'm immature because I complained about the Cubs loss. You got me on that one. Complained? 3 hours of non stop whining compaining etc You would think we were the team 3 games out with the way some people were reacting in here. Did anyone really expect us to win the final 6? I never once expected us to win the final 6. I was by far not the only one complaining. And did I have anything to be happy about the first 8 innings. I'm getting called out for doing the same thing that several others were doing. But I'm the bad guy. Ok, pal, whatever you say. How is that only calling you out? Because I've been saying basically the same thing that others have been saying in the game thread (and I defy anyone to prove me wrong), yet I seem to be the only one people are calling out.
  3. It's still a poor decision that might have overcome a lackluster effort from the offense. I say the Cubs gave a poor effort: I get called out. Raisin says it: He's right! You called it a poor effort in the second inning. I said the offense's results were lackluster today after the game. We basically lost to 2 bloop singles. True. But still. I guess I have to be drinking the Kool-Aid now, because there's NO WAY IN HELL we lose this division. Just like there was NO WAY IN HELL we lose in 84 or 2003.
  4. The Cubs got themselves out. Although the umps didn't do us any favors.

  9. This is why there needs to be that Questec or whatever in every park. Umps need to be held accountable on their BS.
  10. I would do anything he asked. ANYTHING.
  11. If this is correct, you get a month of premium on me.
  12. If we agree on anything, I'm sure we'll be in the Twilight Zone.
  13. Yeah, that may have worked when McGwire was in the lineup.... No, it didn't even work then.
  14. I honest to God don't know how you can look complacent and impatient at the same time. But as I said previously in this thread, they've looked impatient all year, that's the type of offense they are. Piniella said it a week ago, that you're not going to change the type of team they are now, you want to change it, change it in the offseason, but don't be shocked that they're impatient in the losses, when they're impatient in the wins too. I think they got homer-happy against Pitt, and figured today would just be a cakewalk and didn't even attempt to go up to the plate with any sort of plan. That has to be it. You seriously believe that? Erik, I'm relatively new here and I don't know anything about you, but please tell me you're joking. No! I CAN READ MINDS. SHHHH. It's a secret. ;)

Or can you read people's minds through the TV. You could be on Heroes! I'm not even going to dignify this with a response.

  17. I sure as hell hope this wakes them up. I certainly hope they wake up from this awful funk they've been in this month. You know, you can call me out on the Chicken Little stuff, but are you honestly going to try to make the leap that from that post I meant the Cubs have been bad all month. Seriously. Then what do they need to wake up from? Did you think we were going to score 8 runs a game the rest of the year? Offenses go cold from time to time and there's not always great reasons for them. They look complacent and impatient at the plate. I am by far not the only person to make this point. But yet I'm the bad guy. But I digress......

  20. Look, nobody said we're totally gonna win this game, Cubs are awesomest, gonna win the next 8 world serieses. They were just pointing out that you and others were being spazzes saying the season was over because of this game, and that there's no way we could possibly come back from an insurmountable 4 run deficit with only 7 innings to go!! Considering your track record on calling games over, smart money probably is still on the Cubs winning the game. But that's cool, you can crow about us drinking cubbie kool aid and how you knew this game was over and the team doesn't care/is complacent/went out partying/is too young/inexperienced/whatever cliche you want to use to say they won't win because of the uniform they're wearing. And hopefully there'll be a few game threads the rest of the year where people like me aren't here to call you out on your crap. Thanks for posting this so I didn't have to. Who the heck cares, I am being wildly irrational right now, but I know that 20 minutes after the game is over, I will start to think normally again. Game threads are a forum for irrational thought. If you don't like irrational thoughts and want to discuss the game, that's fine just gloss over the bad posts. Sig worthy. =D>

And hey, if it's true and my calling a game over means this game is in the bag, then the Cubs won't win another game for the rest of the year. The Cubs came out flat today. Many said they looked complacent. If Lou is any kind of manager he'd knock that crap off. And 2 games back with 5 left to play is not insurmountable. Isn't that the deficit we had in 98 when we forced the one-game playoff against the Giants?
  22. We're probably in the double digits combined.
  23. Whoever thinks we're winning this game is living in Dreamland. I wish I lived there.
  24. Cubs go weakly. Still think we're going to win this game?
  25. I still can't believe that guy has a job. Leave it to the Cards :x Well he is their 3rd catcher. Lou pinch hits, good call. We need runs. That worked well.
