  1. Lee with a bloop single, lands in front of soriano. Tejada scores, 3-1 Cubs.
  2. Last Cubs C to hit an inside the parker was Cal Neeman in 1959 off of Harvey Haddux.
  3. Interesting stat: Albert Pujols and Lance Berkman in this current streak are the only men in the last 100 years to have 19 hits in their last 25 AB's at any point.
  4. Inside-the-park homers are so awesome. But with the small ballparks of today you barely see them.
  5. God dammit, Riot. Way to swing at the 1st pitch against a struggling pitcher. Damn you.
  6. Geo hit a long drive to left center that bounced high off the wall. The yellow homer line runs vertically on that portion of the wall. It looked like Geo's shot hit just to the right of the line and should have been called a regular homerun. The umpires said it hit the line and was in play. The ball took a crazy bounce off the wall and went back over the CF's head and way out into the center field grass. Geo scored on an inside the park homer. And then he had sex with everyone's mom in the dugout. True Story. This made me lol
  7. Lilly with the Craig Counsell stance, apparently.
  8. must........bite......tounge........ But yeah, I really think he pulled a hammy or something. He's not running right. Now it looks like the trainer is out at 2nd with him.
  9. Who cares? It counts the same. These stupid new ballparks with all their weird, quirky angles. Didn't that ball hit about where Alou's hit that one time? He hit it, it hit the wall, bounced straight up after hitting something on the wall and over the line. Physics be damned.
  10. Yes, but they rotate so the home plate ump will be at 1st tomorrow, 1st will be at 2nd, etc.
  11. Somebody on here said that he's supposed to start for Lee on Wednesday so Derrek can get back to back days off. He really needs them, too. I don't think I've seen him look quite this bad at the plate in a Cubs uniform.
  12. At least the slump isn't in the field with him.
  13. Yeah, today's going to be one of those "Offense gets completely dominated by a crappy journeyman pitcher" games, circa 2007.
  14. Because we have a low BABIP? Come on, the only hard hit ball was Fukudome's and maybe Aramis'. It still evens out. Must you always proclaim doom when we go two innings without scoring? :) We are Cub's fans. We are conditioned for failure. Just go into every game thinking you are going to lose. That's what I have done and 17 times I was right and the other 27 I was wrong and happy. This is what I do. And I will forever be convinced that I'll never see the Cubs in the World Series until it actually happens.
