  1. Wow, the Pirates are looking like a lot of the Cubs teams I grew up with.
  2. That's why you don't bunt with Z! 3-0 on a Z RBI single!
  3. He's worthless in the field and basepaths. If he was a horse, they'd shoot him. Thankfully, he's not a horse.
  4. Nice play my Lee against LaDouche to end the inning.
  5. It's a Friday night. Apparently we're the only ones without lives. Nice little losers club we have here.
  6. After we're done with this series, we don't see another Central Division team until the 4th of July, plus we're starting a stretch of 17 consecutive games without a day off. Aram singles to center. Lee to 2nd.
  7. Win, please. While I'm excited that I'm almost on-deck for my first ever game thread, I'm not totally ready to make it yet.
  8. I think I'd actually have a chance.... assuming I weren't married myself.
  9. I changed out my keychain. The Alaska one was benched after the 2 losses in Houston. Now I have the Wrigley Field one back, so Z is gonna dominate and the Cubs will win tonight! Yes, it's an odd superstition. I know. My wife has taken great glee in pointing this out to me.
  10. Mark Prior is contagious, it would seem He should be put into quarantine.
  11. I'm sure kinks need to be worked out first.
  12. I was thinking about IR the other day and was wondering if there would be a penalty for an upheld call, like there is in the NFL. What would it be? An out? A strike? I don't really think you can penalize there. I'd be in favor of 2 calls per game per team, or every call coming at the discretion of the replay official.
  13. Especially when you consider that they'd do a complete 180 on the topic as soon as the Cubs were on the opposing end of a complete BS call late in the regular season that affected the playoff race, or the playoffs themselves.
  14. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=3408154 As the thread title says, MLB is thinking about trying instant replay in the Arizona Fall League. From there, it may get a trial run in spring training and the World Baseball Classic. As you've no doubt guessed, this is in response to the recent slew of blown HR calls that umpiring crews have made this past week. I know there has been discussion about this topic on here before, but this is really the first time MLB is considering it. I know some arguments against replay are that it would lengthen the game, and that blown calls have "always been part of the game." However, I cannot for the life of me understand how anyone would be against a system that would ensure the proper outcome. Thoughts?
  15. If Soto heard you say that, he'd kill you using only his pinky finger.
  16. Haven't we only won 1 road series this year? (Swept Pirates) Yes sir. So once we come back down to earth at Wrigley, we're in some deep crap. Or once we catch fire on the road we will really run away with things. You could look at it either way. This is the Cubs. Always expect the worst option, but hope for the best. It's less painful that way.

  18. Well, I found out what I needed to. Back to doing the dishes. Night, all.
