according to wiki, the team with the best record in the NL gets to choose whether they want Game 1 to be October 1st or 2nd. Game 5 will be Oct. 7th. Hmm...I wonder if it'd hurt Carlos too bad to start Game 2 while we started Harden in Game 1 on the 1st so we could start him in a potential Game 5 on the 7th... And then Lou can take him out after 85 pitches in a tie ballgame to save him for a game that doesn't even exist at the time!

I said on Opening Day that team was going places this year, but I didn't think they'd be THIS good. Yikes. Not a shocker, though. All those horrible years led to a pretty stacked farm.

Maybe it's just me, but it seems like the umpiring all over baseball has been far worse this year than in past years. yet they balk at replay. I bet they are afraid of that box being open. It's only for fair-foul or disputed home run calls. A very minimal part. The umps can still have strike zones that expand and contract at their will several times over the course of the game, and still act like King Douche of Douchistan behind the plate. Now, start REALLY cracking down on the strike zone, I mean REALLY start holding them accountable, and things will change. However, Bud Selig lost his testicles in a tragic accident years ago, and is therefore unable to act.
