Agreed. I've been showing all these pics to my boys, and trying to describe the players, and the game, with each one. I started showing them Ken Burns' series, and along with your pics, they're starting to get a good feel for the game's history. I'm starting to create a monster though, my younger son(8 y.o.) wanted to know how his OPS+ this season compared to Babe's. I had a tough time explaining the difference between the majors and Pee Wees. That's great!! I'm glad someone is enjoying it. I feel like I'm talking to myself sometimes in this thread! I'd participate, but I don't have nearly as much cool stuff as you do. I could make all-time gimmick lineups, for example, like the all-black team or the all-Canadian team, etc. But I don't have the access to the pictures and old newspaper articles.

also don't want to have to play important games in NY in late September. also. Ron already is planning on skipping the swan song for Shea... I wonder if he'd change his mind if the Cubs were set to potentially clinch there. Wow. Is that because he'll just be taking some last days off before the playoffs, or he just refuses to go there because he hates it?

It's gonna be 50/50, I think. Half of the national columns will be "The Cubs can't hold up in the playoffs. Because they're the Cubs!" The other half will be "The Cubs are going all the way and will win the World Series!" because everyone wants to be the one that truly "predicts" it.

Aww, really? No more Pirates? Dangit. I love it when my team has it's own personal whipping boys. The Cubs have the Pirates, the Packers had the Bears.... I would say the Bears have the Packers as their whipping boys the last 3-4 years... :wink: Honestly in the Lovie Era they are what? 6-2 against them? That's why I said "had".
