  1. fixed If the Cubs lose tonight, they will NOT win the series. It won't even get back to Chicago. I'm not saying they will lose tonight, but if they do, they're toast in this series.. Plain and simple. There is a very fine line between optimism and stupidity.
  2. Biggest game of the year tonight. If the Cubs lose tonight, it's "Wait 'till Next Year" once again on the North Side. If they can go to LA tied, however, I like their chances. Z has GOT to keep a cool head today if he gets squeezed or if someone makes an error behind him. If he does his "stomp around like a bratty child who isn't getting his way" act, it's gonna be the end of the Cubs.
  3. Now I just feel uncomfortable. Anyway, I feel miserable tonight and quite hopeless. Tomorrow, I'm going to wake up and throw on my Zambrano shirt and believe that this team is going to get its Howry together and win dammit. Go Cubs Better than feeling miserable and depressed! Also, Cubs will win tomorrow because I'm not going to wear my cubs shirt this time. Yeah, the Cubs shirt is a jinx for me too. No more Cubs shirts for me for the rest of the playoffs.
  4. My dad told me a joke when I was little. Why did they rip up all the grass at Wrigley Field and replace it with newspaper? Because on paper the Cubs are the best team in baseball.
  5. Are you seriously comparing last year's team to this year's team? Yeah, no point in reading your posts anymore. It's called cognitive dissonance. Anything that doesn't agree with your preconceived notions can be discarded without consideration. He'll, I'll do you one better: 9-20 in playoff games since WWII. Fluke? BUT OMG THAT HAS NO BEARING ON ANYTHING!!!
  6. Are you seriously comparing last year's team to this year's team? Yeah, no point in reading your posts anymore. I think he means last year's team was superior to Arizona in terms of run differential. Apparently we were going to slaughter them because they had given up more runs than they scored. And we did.
  7. oh wow. please be quiet We'll see how wrong I am in about 90 minutes or so. can't wait.. Was all the anticipation worth it?
  8. Or maybe the Cubs need to stop walking people, and start hitting the ball in play, instead of swinging at crap pitches. I am intrigued by your ideas and would like to subscribe to your newsletter.
  9. So you've finally given up, huh? not all the way and certainly not on the series, like SOME PEOPLE (you) I never said we weren't going to win the series. I said we weren't going to win TODAY and it put us in bad shape for the rest of the series. I suggest you brush up on your reading comprehension.
  10. Oh, well hell, what am I worried about? Cubs are the better team? That's all I need to hear!
  11. Can the trainer pull Soriano's head out of his butt by then?
  12. I started to believe. After 20+ years you'd think I'd have learned my lesson about not doing that.
  13. It might make the grounds crew happy. They won't have to fertilize.
  14. DeRo gave it another nice ride. Way to waste the leadoff double. Ugh.
  15. He'll get squeezed a little, then stomp around like a toddler, try to throw it 300 mph and walk everyone in sight. jesus christ Well... is he really wrong? yea he really is. i've changed my mind, erik is not the only ridiculous person on this board. Ok, so then I'm wrong in saying that Zambrano often lets his emotions get the best of him on the mound? You've seen him pitch over the course of his career, right? Try not to be quite so blinded by optimism. You miss a lot. Here's some optimism: If Z is good, we win and go to LA tied. Happy? Im not THAT optimistic, but you are completely over-the-board pessimistic. and if anybody is blinded by feelings, it is not me You still haven't said I'm wrong, btw. Just because it's the truth doesn't mean it's pessimism. Body of work and all that.
  16. Good call on whoever called the leadoff double. Now, take advantage of it.
