  1. Have Bradley or Fox pitch a couple too \:D/ No, the injury risk is such that we only want crappy position players on the mound.
  2. Why not save the pen and have Miles pitch a few innings? It's not like he's going to do any worse.
  3. Hell, why not tank completely and draft that kid that can hit 575-foot bombs. I forget his name. i dont think you got the joke they're in college football. I get it. Do you really have nothing better to do with your life than respond to every single post I make on this board? I know I spend a lot of time here, but damn son, I've got nothing on you. Try getting some sunlight. It's good for you.

  5. Yes. This team is not good. It is, on it's very very best day, above average. When facing a good or great team, all the weaknesses are exposed and we're picked apart. Thank u once more Jim Hendry!!!!!! We may not be good, but were more left handed, and isnt that whats important? Thank God. I couldn't stand all that right-handedness during those 97 wins last year. Hey Jim, I have a philosophy for next year's team: Get less crappy.
  6. Don't hate the Phillies for kicking our asses all over Chicago. Hate the Cubs for sucking this badly.

  8. No, the 2004 team would tear this team a new ass if they could somehow play each other It depends. If it's anytime from April to mid-September? Yes. Anytime after that? No.
  9. "And we're freeeeeee......... free fallin'" Glad I missed this one. Looks like our boys gave it their best yet again. Any game in which Ryan freakin' Howard triples is a bad one.
  10. I prefer Kosuke leading off as well. Not sure why Lou dropped him in the order. Because Fuku/Milt 1-2 made too much sense. We can't have that.
  11. Agreed, I would definitely give Bill Hall a shot. I dont know how it works, but if its low risk Id take the off chance that 2006 Bill Hall still exists in there. Didnt he used to be a second baseman? hmmm. I really wouldnt mind getting our hands on JJ Hardy, however. I would definately buy low on JJ and give him a shot.
  12. :rotfl: I'm sorry, is anything in his statement untrue?
  13. IIRC, the downfall of the 2004 team was not being able to beat bad teams. I remember a very unpleasant series against Montreal in early September of 2004 that pissed me right the [expletive] off. That's so crazy you mention that series. I was just thinking back to that series the other day. I remember Lee blasting a home run in the 1st, then Wood giving up like 8 ER's against the Expos. We ended up losing that series. :banghead: What year was it when we were facing the Mets and they hit 2 grand slams in 2 innings? and then another vs. the Mets when then closer Dempster had something like a 6 or 7 run lead in the 9th and it slipped away like nothing? Bother were between 2004-2006 I want to say that game where the Mets scored like 5 in the 9th was actually 2007. That was one hell of a painful loss, though. We were cruising right along, then couldn't do anything right in the 9th. Santo just about keeled over in the booth. I don't know about the 2 grand slam game, though. I will forever remember the game that LaTroy blew in New York in 2004, though. One of those games where I'll never forget where I was when the season died. After that game I knew we didn't have a chance.

  15. That about sums it up. They are an extremely mediocre team who takes advantage of the teams below them and gets beat up by the teams above them. Haven't they only won 2 series' against teams with winning records this season? Mediocrity at its finest right there Out of curioisty, how many series have the Phillies won against teams with winning records? Probably more than 2.
  16. Cards lose to the Reds, Pirates beating the Rockies in Denver. This would have been a golden opportunity to pick up a game in both races, but at the end of the day, they're just not good enough. Cubs + Golden Opportunities = EPIC FAIL
  17. =D> =D> =D> =D> Yet another stellar performance, boys. Take a bow.
  18. Not even close. actually, it is.in 2006, we knew we had a crap team on our hands from the get go, but now, we have a high pay roll team that should be steamrolling their way to the top, and they cant hang. I submit to you the following names: Dusty Baker Jacque Jones Neifi Perez Juan Pierre John Mabry Freddie Bynum Cesar Izturis Tony Womack Glendon Rusch With the exception of Aaron Miles, no one on this team comes remotely close to those piles of trash. OH GOD THE PAIN!! MAKE IT STOP!!
  19. Remember when the Cubs weren't an embarrassement?
  20. Farnsworth was like that sometimes.
  21. It would be just like Bud and MLB to make one stupid move to cover up another. Yes, because implimenting a system to ensure that the correct call is always made is such a horrible thing.
  22. After you give up on them, they'll go on a hot streak to suck you back in again, and then they'll tank once and for all about mid-september.
