Don't I recall you being one of the ones that jumped on me for writing the article suggesting we should trade Zambrano this winter? I don't recall if I was, but I'm allowed to change my mind. It was probably right after we got rid of Harden and I was worried about the strength of the rotation. However our competitive window probably closes after this season (next season tops) and in that case you might as well start rebuilding and trying to get the stars of tomorrow. And I didn't think this winter was the right time. I only advocate trading Z if we're out of it at the end of July.

If the Cubs are sellers at the deadline this year, I don't think I'd be opposed to sending Z off somewhere.

It's frustrating as all hell when we hit balls hard either right at someone or someone makes a good catch, and they have bloopers and seeing-eye singles all day long.

I rarely drink, actually. I'm pretty mellow in my day-to-day life but the Cubs just piss me off unreasonably. I used to be the eternal optimist when I was a kid: The Cubs could be 39 out with 40 left to play and I'd think they'd still have a chance. They're like the screw-up family member: You've long since stopped expecting anything at all from them, but you still love them and will never leave.

I've been on the Z bandwagon his entire career, but I think it's about time to cut ties. He's far too much of a headcase to be relied on for any sort of superstar performance.

Pretty much... this is why half the board stops doing game threads after a week or two. But then you would miss all of Erik's hilarious overreactions. Exactly. It's fun being the only one (apparently) who ever criticizes the Cubs for anything ever. Shut up and go watch a bunch of Europeans kick a ball around a lawn.
