  1. There were some changes to the compensation with the last CBA, but compensation picks are still part of the deal. (San Diego might very well get a 1st rounder for Barrett, for example.)
  2. what's the point... Murton is probably a better player than Nady. PECOTA sure thinks so, anyway. Last year, maybe. Murton's value is down this year, and Nady's is up. Classic sell high for the Pirates to pick up a young-ish player with upside.
  3. I posted the same in the 'buyers' thread. I think he fits the Hendry target. I could see us offering Murton and maybe a passable arm for him.
  4. I wonder if Xavier Nady might be a guy Hendry would go after. I know we have too many OF'ers right now, but I mostly expect Jones and probably Murton to be traded.
  5. Gouge out my ears if I hear that again, I will. How 'bout if you hear. . Can I have it like that? You got it like that Noooooooooooo.
  6. Gouge out my ears if I hear that again, I will.
  7. I just saw the score in the Twins/Sox game. 20-14, Twins win. Wowage.
  8. Wow. He's still standing at the plate on radio. It's at least 20 seconds behind.
  9. This free MLB.com radio preview thing rocks.
  10. Cedeno and Moore don't have much value (until Cedeno shows something in the majors), and Floyd is just another older guy the Yankees don't need. Hill has some value but is worth more to us than them. I don't think those 4 players even start the conversation on Rodriguez. I'd expect the negotations to start with Zambrano and/or Pie. Posada isn't much behind the plate, but he would be an upgrade. Piniella really doesn't seem enamored with catch-second guys.
  11. While it would be fun to watch him hit homers in Wrigley, I'm not all that crazy about adding Dunn. His bat would make us better, but there are some holes in his offensive game. Most importantly, he's a DH. He's bad and (from what I've read) indifferent in LF. He would be terrible in RF. There's no position you could put him on the Cubs (including 1B) that wouldn't make the team worse defensively. This team has also been better defensively with Soriano in LF and a real centerfielder. I am more than ready to give Murton a shot somewhere else, because I don't think he's going to produce runs well enough to justify playing LF, and he can't play anywhere else very well. Of course, his value is at its lowest point since joining the Cubs, so that's prime time for Hendry to trade him for a nice AAAA player.
  12. I think Koyie and Soto should swap places, and Soto should start. I think Hill is out of options, and he's done a pretty good job catching (including that great play picking Sori's throw against the Sox.)
  13. Meaningless 2-out single, coming up. Oh, wait...it's Bowen. 4-3 coming up.
  14. Wooo. A good curve. All faith restored. A sharp fastball on the hands - 0-2 to Logan. It's all goodness now.
  15. This post is useless without pics. http://images.jupiterimages.com/common/detail/77/55/23495577.jpg It looks a lot like that, except I'm not Asian or female, and the pillow isn't a soccer ball, and it's in a living room. Otherwise, spot on.
  16. Realistic me predicts a pop out from Lee to the shallow outfield. Optimistic me wants a homah.
  17. All right, enough moaning. I'm breaking out the rally cap. I have no cap nearby, so I'm putting a rally couch pillow on my head. Let's go Riot.
  18. I was just about to type "I predict a rolling curve that gets smoked somewhere." Yeah, not like it was a difficult prediction to make.
