I don't know about percentages, but IMO Carpenter is more likely to compete for the Cy Young than Lee is to compete for the MVP.

I assume this is including batting too if Carpenter is 5th.

I've caught just about every Carpenter start except for a few games early in the season when I was still in class and I can tell you for sure that the last thing Carpenter looks to be when he's going into the 8th and 9th innings is fatigued.

No. Lee at least was a good player before this season, albeit not a great one. Nunez was a terrible player and has been above-average this year. Nunez has seen a 185-point boost in OPS. Lee? 240.

Wasn't Barrett the one who said something along the lines of "I know nobody wants to see us in a postseason series. I know it," last year after the Cubs lost out on the wildcard?

King had an awful, awful May: 7.94 ERA, 12 hits and 6 walks in all of 5.2 innings. Since then, he's allowed 4ER, 12 hits and 3 walks in 15.2 innings (for a sub-1 WHIP and a 2.29 ERA), and on the season, he's only allowed 8 of 37 inherited runners to score (three of those today).

FWIW, here are the OPS+ numbers (park adjusted) for both Rolen and Lee over the past, ohh, five years: Rolen / Lee 126 / 122 127 / 113 132 / 131 139 / 135 161 / 114 Rolen, while not the hitter we saw last year, had been improving steadily for some years, while Lee put up better numbers in that huge Miami park than he did last year in a much more hitter-friendly park.

I'll echo the sentiment of Prior over Carpenter but I'll also echo Peavy. The guy's flown so far under the radar.
