  1. History was made in Jackson in a bad way yesterday. From the Jackson Sun:

  3. Even after a losing streak on the road the Jaxx are only 2 games back of the Carolina Mudcats. That may not seem like a big deal to some since the Jaxx have locked up a playoff spot but if the Jaxx can win the 2nd half title they receive an extra home game in the opening round of the playoffs in Jackson. Go Jaxx!
  4. On the other hand, Matt Murton does a session here, and that propels him to the show. :D Once the season is over we should have a page looking at the splits before and after the q & a sessions.
  5. Pictures? I confiscated them all!!!! Smart thinking.
  6. And just like that the Jaxx are 2 games behind the Mudcats!
  7. For selfish reasons I actually would like to have a couple playoff games played at Carolina (the booming metropolis of Zebulon). However, I won't complain about an extra home game as long as there's at least one game in Carolina I can go to. FWIW if there is a Sunday game in Zebulon there is a possibility that I may be able to attend. I'm tentatively scheduled to be in NC September 9-11.
  8. http://peoriachiefs.com.ismmedia.com/ISM2/PlayerManager/506.jpeg.300.jpeg Grant Johnson, Pitcher for the Peoria Chiefs, has graciously agreed to answer questions from posters on NSBB! If you would like to send a comment to Grant, or if you would like to ask Grant a question, feel free to post it here. Since the Chiefs' regular season is winding down, the deadline for submitting questions is 12-noon on Wednesday, August 24. Once Grant has had an opportunity to answer them, the responses will be posted. This session will be coordinated as in accordance with The NSBB Q & A Guidelines. From the Peoria Chiefs website: Birthplace: LaGrange, IL DOB: May 26, 1983 Bats: R Throws: R Height: 6' 6" Weight: 220 lbs Grant Johnson was chosen in the 2nd round of the 2004 draft by the Cubs out of Notre Dame. In 2002, he posted a 9-5 record with a 3.46 ERA as a freshman. Johnson missed his sophomore season following shoulder surgery on Dec. 30th, 2002. Grant returned to the Fighting Irish rotation in 2004 and posted a 6-0 record with a 1.87 ERA. This is Grant's first pro season. He hails from Burr Ridge, IL and went to Lyons Township HS. Thank you to Grant for taking the time to interact with us on such an up close and personal level. Many thanks to Nathan Baliva, Broadcast & Media Manager for the Peoria Chiefs, for setting up the interview. As always, thanks to all of you for making NSBB such a wonderful community!

  10. Welcome to the forum! There is a link for frequently asked questions at the top of the page in case you have any questions.
  11. Agreed. Apparently we found out why there was no discussion #-o
  12. Agreed, this is a cool thread. I'm surprised that there hasn't been any discussion on some of these points. For future reference, if anyone has anything that you would like to ask Dave, please let me know. I got with Dave earlier today in regards to this session and have the ability to communicate with him in the future. In regards to the responses, I really encourage everyone to make it a point to thank these guys after their session. Some of the guys do not visit the site but there have been some to visit. I know that when a question is submitted there is usually a "thank you" included, but let's make it a point to thank these guys after the session as well. FWIW I can forward the expressions of appreciation after the answers are posted to hte players/coaches. Thanks in advance for your help and support!
  13. Make that 4 sessions
  14. The skies open up in Jackson! ha ha Don't want to give it away but there's going to be another q & a posted today. A guy having a pretty good season in the Minor Leagues has agreed to do a session!
  15. "Put it in the W column!" JAXX WIN!
  16. Brandon Sing is just taking the day off, not hurt
  17. Even after a losing streak the Jaxx are only 3 out coming into today. If the Jaxx can win the 2nd half they get an extra playoff game in Jackson. Let's go Jaxx!
  18. If you think that's bad, remember what happened to Rich Hill when he wasn't able to do finish his interview before getting called up. uh oh! Eric Patterson, at least, seems to be immune. He was batting .332 when the Q&A went up, and he's batting .332 now (with 2 HRs in the interim). So there! :P What she said!
  19. If you think that's bad, remember what happened to Rich Hill when he wasn't able to do finish his interview before getting called up.
  20. And Mr. Rawlings has made a couple of visits! Ron's gotta let you make that call when you're there. We should have a poll where the site picks the HR call, ha ha
  21. Ron was talking about the team watching the Magnificent 7 and then said that they also watched the Mediocre 11, a game about Tennessee Volunteer Football Uh oh, Ron "did it again", "D'oh!"
  22. Next Friday is going to be hilarious, especially when I'm doing PBP
