From the Peoria Chiefs website: Birthplace: Roscoe, IL DOB: May 5, 1985 Bats: R Throws: R Height: 6' 3" Weight: 200 lbs Weber was chosen in the 16th Round of the 2003 draft by the Cubs directly out of high school. He played all of 2003 in Mesa, recording 13.1 innings, 1 save, and a 4.05 ERA in 7 appearances. In 2004, Weber started 14 games for Boise, finishing with a 5-1 record and a 2.95 ERA. He has a career ERA of 3.11. Matt was the opening day starter for the Peoria Chiefs. Earlier this season, Matt threw an 89-pitch complete game vs. the Burlington Bees, but lost 2-0. It was the first complete game pitched in the Cubs minor league organization in 2005. He also pitched 38.1 innings without allowing a walk.
