  1. LaRussa with a glove...
  2. Reggie just about volleyed that ball over the wall
  3. Sweet, got back just in time to watch dirty cap give up a run
  4. Strike 5 to Edmonds, ha ha
  5. I could see that. There is a solid boundry to compare it to. You can look and tell if the ball his the line, or what side of the poll the ball left the park on. Also isn't something that would come up very often in a game One of the other things was whether or not a ball hits the pole. Gammons said that with the new designs of parks it's only getting harder for the umpires to make the correct call. Now that I think of it, he mentioned having it as a resource when it comes to the possibility of fan interference.
  6. The funny thing is that I haven't even heard his name mentioned.
  7. Obviously calling balls wouldn't work even with replay, as evident with the situation last night. Gammons suggested using replay in regards to calling homeruns and balls that may or may not have hit down the line.
  8. Yeah...the games are not quite long enough now! I could see limited replay in areas that Peter Gammons mentioned earlier, but I'm sure that it would be all or none.
  9. uh oh, more controversy
  10. He was trying to put himself in position to make a spectacular catch
  11. Two words: Paypal Credit
  12. 21 pages and growing
  13. I'll give you simultaneous, but the ball wasn't rolled on the field before the umpire gave the out sign.
  14. ha ha, congrats, Cuse
  15. From what I saw last year, most people on this board think players should fake being hit by pitches if they can sell it to the umpire. I don't see how this (AJ's behavior) is any different I can't rip on AJ because he turned and saw the umpire giving the no contact signal and not the out signal.
  16. Then wouldn't the ump have given Paul the benefit of doubt then? But he didn't call the ball in the dirt, he called in "no contact" and rung him up.
  17. Don't forget that AJ lied about that play from a year ago. There's a big difference between a ball being called in the dirt and a ball that is obviously dropped from the glove of the catcher.
  18. By what, 2 inches? The ball was not thrown before the signal. Pauls back was facing the ump. How in Gods green earth did he even see the pump? http://a.abcnews.com/images/Sports/CXS20710130327.jpeg Here is a picture of Paul walking away. Just because he's walking away doesn't mean his head isn't turned to what's going on.

  20. The ump wouldn't want to do that during the 3 games in Anaheim. Wouldn't want to do something that might get the home crowd mad. He had better not show up then
  21. What will be funny is when they start tagging every runner on strike three and someone gets ejected for showing up an umpire
  22. Can someone post the video? We can call it a new server test, ha ha
  23. No. Simultaneous maybe, but definitely not before.
  24. I went home for lunch and watched ESPNEWS and they discussed it. They said that essentially the umpire balked on the call and he deceived the players for the Angels. So they assumed it was an out when it wasn't. I don't deny that the ump screwed up but the Angels are not without fault in this. Assumed? I guess I was wrong for assuming he was out when the umpire punched him out. They also laughed at how the umpire for extra emphasis gave a kick with the fist pump. The Angels are without fault on this play because the umpire gave the signal that he was out.
