  2. It appears that he's hitting .400 with a .571 SLG%
  3. He's playing in Venezuela.
  4. Here's the recap from the council meeting yesterday. The council will vote on Friday to determine the fate of the Diamond Jaxx. On a very positive note, the Jaxx could be staying for 4 years, with an additional year added if the attendance at the gate averages 2,500+. Link
  5. Thanks for the update, Ron. If there's anything else I can do, let me know.
  6. The Macon Telegraph article that mentions the Jaxx can be found here

  10. I love this thread! :jive:
  11. In response to us having Coleman, yes, he did help out in spring training last year - and I thought he helps us out in the minors as well. Yes, he's a roving minor league instructor.
  12. Just in case you missed, he wasn't implying they aren't studs, just thought (as did I) that it was funny that a professional web site would refer to players as studs. I could've sworn that the term "young studs" was pretty normal in baseball journalism.
  13. Here's the stats page for the Carolina Mudcats if anyone wants to look over some numbers.
  14. From the Marlins site. I thought that was pretty funny. :D Were they not?
  15. Offering Fez doesn't bother me, it's the willing to give Ricky and Pinto.
  16. Aren't message boards for discussion?
  17. the cubs don't have to be beggars, that's the thing. walker would be just as capable as a leadoff guy next year, and he won't cost the cubs half the farm. We have a winner!
  18. The Sun continues their unbalanced coverage of the Jaxx. Here's their latest spin on the situation between the Jaxx and the city of Jackson. For the record, keep in mind that there are 9 city council members that are a part of this discussion. Link
  19. Well, before the Jackson Sun gets so high and mighty saying that ownership and the city both need to contribute, they should look in the metaphorical mirror. The Sun could do a lot more to help. They generally provide game coverage only for home games. The sports home page does not have a link dedicated to the only professional sports franchise in town. I have followed several of the different minor league clubs and the Sun's coverage is among the worst. Bingo. A few years ago, the Sun had Kary Booher covering the Jaxx. His coverage of the Jaxx was some of the best sports journalism I have ever read. In addition, the Jaxx did have a link on the Sun website. Since then, Kary isn't covering the Jaxx and the coverage doesn't seem as dedicated as before. David Brandt does a great job, but the Sun doesn't collectively cover the Jaxx as they once did. In addition, the Sun is writing many articles that appear are intended to sway the public against them. Cubway's post above is a great example of this.
