  1. Yep. I remember him commenting that if there were only 2 outs in an inning he would've had some great numbers.
  2. I'm pretty sure Joey Cheek was congratulating him. If not, I'd be surprised, especially since Joey has been donating the money he's been winning. I'd be concerned that the media is going to make this a big deal, especially with both of them racing in the 1500m.
  3. I don't see a problem in Mark going to the ER under those circumstances and it not being reported in the media.
  4. Yeah, it was a weird moment to say the least. Melissa Stark even asked if he was angry during the interview.
  5. The only guy making a point to talk about it was Hedrick, who BTW won the gold in the 5000m. He finished 6th in the 1000m, but wasn't the favorite in the event. In regards to the other guys in the team combined event, Boutiette was in the 5,000m and I don't see him scheduled in any other event, nor do I see Cox or Mull in another event. Parra is scheduled for the 1500 and Hedrick is in the 1500 and 10,000. I'm certainly not a fan of the way Hedrick acted in the stands at the 1000m or the way he put emphasis on his pursuit of several medals.
  6. He was scheduled to participate in a combined event and backed out so he could put more attention on his individual event.
  7. The struggles continue for Bode Miller.
  8. To echo Tim's comments, the Diamond Jaxx have been very good to NSBB in many ways and continue to be good to us as we get close to the 2006 season. After a week of discussions with the Jaxx, a contract has been completed and forwarded to Tim for final approval. Details on this agreement will be made available once the agreement is made final. This contract is very important in many ways. The key importance with this agreement is that we are able to thank the Jaxx with financial support. Due to the negotiations with the city, the Jaxx have not had as much time to sell advertisements, and thus they are behind. This contract is also important in that it will show the Cubs organization that we support the organizations within the system. This contract will benefit all of the users on the site in that it will increase exposure not only on NSBB, but exposure on players and teams throughout the Minor League system. I would also like to echo Tim's appeal for financial help if at all possible. Whether a large or small contribution, every bit helps. The more money that can be raised by members of the site, the less financial burden there will be on the site, thus enabling the site to have the opportunity for more projects in the future. In addition, I encourage all of you to keep up with all of the opportunities there will be to support the organizations with their charitable efforts in 2006. Last year, lots of money was donated by NSBB members for fundraisers such as the Boy Scouts, National Guard, JDRF, MDA, and disaster relief efforts. Thank you in advance for all of your help!
  9. Yeah, I'm not sure I'm a fan of his decision
  10. Amazing. Lindsey Jacobellis looks back and goes for style points on the second to last jump when she has the gold secured. She goes down and finishes 2nd. Wow.
  11. I didn't think any possible way Sammy would hit it. Went utterly insane when he did. What an amazing moment. Game 1 of the 2003 NLCS was the first game me and my wife attended at Wrigley. I have the game on video and made it a point to watch it not long ago. That was the greatest sports moment I have ever seen live. I was fortunate to see some great Sammy moments in person. I got to watch Sammy and the Cubs play the Jaxx in an exhibition game. Sammy came out for a HR derby. He lost the derby, but hit some amazing shots at the Interstate. The 2000 HR Derby in Atlanta was amazing as well. When Sammy came to Jackson to rehab with the Jaxx, it was tremendous. Nothing like your favorite current player coming to rehab 15 minutes from your house. Before he left he came out to address the fans. As he was leaving, I waved a "W" flag and yelled "Get a World Championship!", to which he looked up, smiled, and gave a salute. Great times!
  12. That would be fun to watch.
  13. Jaxx owners, buyer come together on price
  14. Bruce, you are the man!
  15. It looks like it was!
  16. You could be on to something.
  17. She's responded to me through the e-mail but I've never made the mailbag. She's also never agreed to my request for a Q & A.
  18.
  19. The Iowa caps are also available in green
  20. Greetings, thank you for taking the time to answer our questions! Has there ever been a piece of memorabilia that a player/organization was not willing to allow the HOF to have to put on display? If a player/organization is willing to provide an item to be displayed in the HOF, is it on loan or is that item permanently donated? What are your comments on trading card companies purchasing rare pieces of memorabilia for the purpose of cutting them up to put on trading cards? Is there a wish list of items that the HOF would like to have on display? If so, what are some of those items? I'm sure it's tough to choose just one, but what is your favorite memory from your time spent as the President of the HOF? Thanks!
  21. Go Flying Tomato!
