    that's not the logic at all. you definitely don't want to dictate to them tho. People are in leadership/management positions for a reason. If the organization allowed Wood to assess and decide for himself last year, I'm concerned for the organization. I'd much rather have a player be mad and sit than a player get worse and waste even more salary. Fires are better off prevented.
