  1. STL 4-2 vs the dregs of the division Cubs 4-1 vs the sox and Brewers. If they can keep this up thorough this stretch, the division is not an unrealistic goal. Ah yes, the SMALL sample size STL 26-9 vs the NL Central CHC 18-14 vs NL Central 4-2 is a .667 pace, 4-1 is an .800 pace. How realistic is expecting the Cubs to win 8 of every 10 games?
  2. He didn't do anything about it? Thats interesting, did you go into hibernation immediately after the camera showed Kline? So how do you feel about managers that allow their players to flip off the crowd and do nothing about it?
  3. Are you still unimpressed itb? With tonight's complete game shutout Carpenter moves to 11-4 on the season and lowers his ERA to 2.77 In his 5 June starts Carpenter has gone 4-1 with an ERA of 0.90, a WHIP of 0.80, 43 SO in 40 IP and 2 CG shutouts
  4. He wasn't criticized by me. But in keeping with the question, I am sure you will and have heard some bytching already (see StlToday CardsTalk & Cards MLB forum) In comparing the two, Walker is 38, JD was in his mid 20's, you would expect more nagging injuries in a 38 y/o compared to a 27-28 y/o. Walker has played in 57 games and still has enough AB to qualify in the batting race. I expected around 120 games from Walker. As far as not trading for him, $5M for a player with the all around skills of Larry Walker I would do that trade again in a minute. Walker wasn't acquired until early August, previous to that the Cardinals used Mabry, Luna, Taguchi, Cedeno, Lankford and Marlon Anderson for the 1st 109 games of the year. And the Cardinals did go 22-12 with Nunez & Mabry getting most of the PT in Rolen's DL time. It also doesn't seem likely that Sanders and Edmonds will sit the same day (or at least very few) It is possible but won't be an easy task by any means. And the schedule doesn't help, with AZ loss last night all of the Cardinals next 17 games are vs sub .500 teams. The Cubs get to face the MLB's best record and 10 games vs teams fighting for the NL East crown.
  5. Carpenter's Game Scores since April 16th start 4/21 - 78 4/27 - 63 5/2 - 51 5/7 - 43 5/12 - 56 5/18 - 53 5/23 - 68 5/29 - 57 6/3 - 70 6/8 - 50 6/14 - 94 A good game?
