  1. D eals junky pitches E very pitch leaves the yard M any pitchers are better P robably least favorite S tinks at pitching T errible E ven Schlitter is better R eal bad
  2. Some translate Fred's stats into scintillating cocktail conversation at the bar, then say a prayer of thanks to Fred's chosen god every night.
  3. Walks are of little concern. Soon the pitiful Giants uprising will be crushed.
  4. You'd think a major leaguer would change his last name back to at least a more proper Baumgartner. Go Z!!
  5. Please oh please shut out the birds tomorrow Gorzo to make it 3 straight BLANKS for them
  6. Judd says TLR is very superstitious. That would seem odd to me since he's the Genius.
  7. I would be all for Christ, Colvin in right. Still might lose.
  8. That is what living the wrigley life is all about.
  9. Aargh! This game must continue, so the snack-cake guzzling Berkman can get the golden sombrero. That is all that matters.
  10. If Rich Dubee would come out again this inning, this frustrating game would be easier to take.
  11. We will surely miss you Ted, but at least your new team might let you pitch with the lead once in a while.
  12. CUBS don't win because they don't score. C. Muskat said a few days ago: NL teams with the most games allowing 3 runs or fewer: Atlanta: 40-12 San Diego: 42-5 CUBS: 26-19 (!!!) St. Louis: 33-11 San Francisco: 31-12 Score, and win CUBS.
  13. Is Marshall pitching here the dumbest thing I have ever seen?
  14. show Dusty how easy it is to beat this team. beat the phillies i mean.
  15. (Feel free to delete if necessary, no problem. But as I posted the previous day's game thread and the CUBS won... what the heck) This will be the final game played in major league baseball. Before this year's all star break. CUBS are 39-49 and 9.5 games behind Dusty Baker's Reds. CUBS can earn a 5-2 road trip with a win today, and will start a 10-game homestand after the all star break. Carlos Silva (9-2, 2.96) might have a lingering sore calf muscle, but says he is good to go. Hope so! Carlos might be extra motivated since he did not make the all star team. http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f11/coldsteel73/silva.jpg Vicente Padilla (3-2, 4.72) is expected to be his pitching opponent. Vicente has been very good past few starts. http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f11/coldsteel73/padilla.jpg CUBS will be featured on ESPN's sunday night baseball 3 straight weeks starting tonight. For those of us who enjoy the dulcet tones and incisive wit of baseball luminary Joseph Morgan, this will be a fabulous treat! http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f11/coldsteel73/donkeys.jpg
  16. CUBS fever is back!! When Dusty Baker's Reds get squashed yet again tonight, we will be only single digit games back.
