    I'd bet they'd wait until the team comes back to Chicago after the Florida series. I just hope it gets done at all. Who would be interim? Pole or Rothschild? I think Pole would quit and go with him. Rothschild would be my first guess, Speier second. Isn't Grady Little still with the orginization? grady is currently a catching instructor in the minors, i believe.

    if this doesn't spell the end of dusty, there's no way he'll be fired before the end of his contract. i really, really, really hope to wake up to the news that he's been fired.

    he's been solid his whole career, and you can't really compare ERAs in the AL to those in the NL. regardless, advocating trading prior for buehrle is ridiculous. Solid , yes, no doubt but not the best in baseball. i'm definitely not saying he's anything more than solid :)

    LOL you have GOT to be kidding me What's funny about those 2? Actually Buehrle's stretching it. I'm just frustrated right now. what?????? i would take buehrle over oswalt, despite the fact that i can't stand either of them. oswalt is overrated, imo. i wouldn't even think about trading prior for either of them.

    i think dempster is a guy you want to keep. we've been hurting to find a closer for a while, and while i think people focus too much on that spot, it really is nice to have a guy you know can get the job done. if he keeps getting the job done, i wouldn't mind bringing him back next year if his demands are reasonable, and i'd like to think he wouldn't demand too much from the team that took a chance on him and paid for his rehab.

    If soft hitter means guy who gets on base more than a third of the time, I have to disagree. You counting walks not his hits. He is a very soft hitter. Let me ask you a simple question, if he is so good why haven't all the contenders tried to trade for him? The Cubs would gladly trade him. they aren't keeping him at Iowa for the future. People just don't consider him a major league hitter, not walker. yes, because walks are terrible. all they do is clog the bases. people who walk can't score runs.

    i've seen that this is only for a month or so - not the rest of the year.

    i used to think this, but i don't think hendry has the balls to do it. i hope i have to eat my words on this one - i really do - but i don't think it will happen before the end of the season.
