  1. And they say Hendry doesn't have a strategy. How do you suppose he got Nomar for Beltran/Harris/Gonzo?
  2. They've checked the ISPs and everything. It's him. We should have a camera follow him wherever he goes and get it done with
  3. What year was that?
  4. Whats with all the over-paying to relievers this off-season? Guess its not just the Cubs...
  5. Conan Obrien'd.
  6. No new news on the 11:20 update.. I'm out. I think they'll postpone progress in this deal until after the Thanksgiving Break.. thats just me..
  7. Thats it? Nothing else? Yup... I'm gonna go watch Family Guy and miss the 40 update.
  8. 20/20 update: Cubs are also working on getting a hold of Juan Pierre..
  9. That is correct. It will be a piece of glass there instead of bushes. You are not serious are you? I wish I was clever enough to make that up. Yeah, there will be four rows of bushes and then a restaurant. I hope Derrek Lee's home runs break every glass that restaurant has. I hope its one of Furcal, Pierre, or Gile's shots that break them :D Opposing players playing OF get taunted enough. I wonder what'll happen to people in the restaurants...

  11. 670thescore.com Yeah, thats what I'm doing. Cant find my radio. I can't find the link to listen from that site. Yeah, the link should be bigger. Left menu-bar. Right under Bears. Picture saying "Listen Live"
  12. "Cubs still working on the deal to get Pierre"
  13. Hopefully this means they're wrong about the Pierre deal. Pinto may be our best pitching commodity in the minors, as he's got great stuff, isn't constantly injured (a la Guzman), and is relatively close to the bigs. To give him AND two other prospects up for an overpriced, potentially awful Juan Pierre coming off of a bad season for 1 year is absolutely ridiculous. It still depends on who they are. I'd hate to give Pinto up, because he is close and healthy, but I still rate Hill and Marshall higher from the left side. But if the Cubs give up a couple of players with no future, it's a decent deal, depending on Pierre getting back to 2004 numbers. A lot depends on who the hypothetical two other players are, but trading Pinto to the Marlins gives me heartburn. You aren't the only one, Serena. :| Yay Pepto-Bismol!
  14. 670thescore.com Yeah, thats what I'm doing. Cant find my radio.
  15. They said barely anything about Pierre..
  16. I'm not so sure. Clement loved Chicago and he and his wife were very close to Prior and Wood. My guess is he wouldn't mind being reunited here. I believe they also named their son "maddux" as well..... Personally, I'd love to see Clement back, however, not for that price tag.....and who knows how well he's gonna bounce back from that shot in the noggin'. Reunited and it feels so gooooooood... I would love to have Clement back. I really liked him when he was in Chicago. He pitched many great games, just didnt get any run support. I was really upset when he signed with the Red Sox, but atleast he got better run support there.
  17. I'm listening to 670.. Football, football, football..
  18. As long as its for someone thats not Pie, Dope, Aardsma, Gooz.. im okay w/ it.. Cubs are having a pretty good off-season..
  19. ...
  20. They're gonna over shadows Cub's Boise Hawks :(
  21. Isnt there a team already occupying Boston? Guess not...
  22. Another baseball team in Texas?? I was thinking a state that could use a major league team. North Carolina (Charlotte), Indiana (Indianapolis), Louisiana (New Orleans), Utah (Salt Lake City), Oregan (Portland)...
  23. You are being entirely too negative about the quality of Eyre and Howry. These guys aren't scrubs. As for the money, big deal, at least it's being spent on something here that can help the team, unlike the Neifi and Rusch signings. An improved Cub bullpen is worth an extra 8 to 10 games over the course of a season. That's puts us back to the upper 80 win total category and a playoff contender again. Add a leadoff man and some respectable outfielders and this team is ready to go. Both of these guys are average players who happen to be coming off extremely lucky seasons. Not only were both lucky on a balls in play perspective, but both were well under their typical HR/IP last year. We're committing 7M/year and getting pitchers no better than Wuertz and Ohman. Who knows, maybe they're durable enough to hold up to Dusty's usage patterns. That would be a plus. Whoa whoa. You're saying that Howry and Eyre are equal to Wuertz and Ohman? Yes, that's exactly what I'm saying. Ohamn career era - 4.17 Eyre career era - 4.52 Wuertz career era - 3.96 Howry career era - 3.58 What part of Eyre's post-ADD story did you not read? Ohman and Wuertz career ERA? Small. Sample. Size. Look, I like Ohman and Wuertz, I want them in my bullpen. But you are exaggerating your point to argue they are as good as Eyre and Howry, respectively. They are not. Wuertz and Ohman have been playing for A LOT less time than Howry and Eyre have..
  24. I dont like the "lucky" explanation for Howry, Eyre, and Lofton. :? Isnt there anything real factual to back that up?
  25. How much do we have left for OF and possibly SS?
