  1. The Bus finally got a ring, that's the last Super Bowl I remember. All of that has been blocked from my memory. I don't see why you'd have to block anything from memory, that makes it all the sweeter. I agree to an extent, but that one really really hurt. I did my best to forget that game as soon as "he missed it". Yeah, that 2005 Colts team was the best Colts team I have ever seen-great offense, good defense, good special teams. They just had the tragedy and then too much rest for the key people, and they took 3 quarters off and it was 1 quarter too much. That was a tough one to swallow for sure-in the playoffs, the 2006 team finally started looking somewhat like the 2005 version again. It's interesting. This year's Colts: maybe not quite as high-octane as the 2005 group. But tougher, a little more experienced, maybe a little more battle tested. And that got 'em through. I still don't think that Steelers team was all that great. Should have lost against the Colts----didn't impress me in the Super Bowl, got a ton of calls from the refs, made a couple gadget plays and won it. :-\ Not so sure about that Soul. That Steelers team completely and utterly outplayed that Colts team, as many Colts fans will admit to. In fact, that Colts team was the benefit of perhaps the worst call I've seen in professional sports, and still was short. That call sickened me, and in a way the Steelers almost deserve the reverse karma in the Superbowl. But not really. BTW, the Colts got hit with that exact same call from the same referee in the first Jacksonville game this year-so you can rest easy that karma has been served:D Yeah, the Steelers outplayed the Colts, but I think what he meant is that the Steelers were the benefit of a Colts team that was completely shell shocked from the tragedy plus the rest. The Colts didn't come ready to play until the 4th quarter-the Steelers too advantage of that, but it was really the collapse of the Colts team that day, not the Steelers who just imposed their will (with the exception of the Colts offensive line to the Steelers defensive line-there, the Steelers definitely imposed their will). It was the most disappointing thing I've ever seen to see a team that good just look like they were somewhere else for 3 quarters and make mental mistakes they hadn't made all season. Whatever. In the end its all moot since you guys get to be all happy with your trophy. Never meant or implied that the Steelers were the better team, but they certainly were the best team on the field. No question about that. Winning championships is rarely about being the best team, it's almost always about being the most deserving. And last season, the Steelers were the most deserving. I dont have anything to say. I just want in on this long series of quotes.
  2. -Craig Biggio needs 70 hits to reach 3,000. -Barry Bonds needs 159 hits to reach 3,000. -Jim Thome needs 91 strikeouts to reach 2000 career.
  3. -Frank Thomas needs 13 more HRs to reach 500. -Jim Thome needs 28 HRs to reach 500. -Sammy Sosa needs 12 HRs to reach 600. -Barry Bonds needs 21 HRs in order to tie Hank Aaron for the all-time lead.
  4. http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/5/5d/Pias.jpg That is all.
  5. Actually, what you heard was that season ticket prices would not be increased -- which is still true. Effectively, season ticket holders are able to get the same tickets for $2 less than the general public. Bargain much?
  6. Probably my most favorite game of the Dusty Era. Certainly the best game of 2006.
  7. I'm gonna guess it's ESPN, or ESPN2.
  8. That was huge because the Bears made it huge. I was mentally breaking down for them to put in Adrian Peterson and do what Benson does.. and then put Thomas Jones in and get a TD like he did in the NO games.
  9. That is pretty cool. God, the party I was at went absolutely nuts after that. Too bad it was all downhill from there. :( Yeah the bar I was at was justa madhouse after that. Actually we had three Colts fans (two girls one guy) who decided to show up to a bar in Chicago and be very obnoxious. Now, if I was in Indy for this game, I sure as hell wouldn't have gone to a bar with all Colts fans and been screaming obnoxiously. I was pretty pissed about that. Eventually security made them leave, probably for their own protection, because there was lots of angry Bears fans who started yelling at them. Apparently many people were recording themselves at bars or at a house party to start off the game. Tons of video on their reactions of the touchdown on YouTube.
  10. *sigh* http://youtube.com/watch?v=QelCcxiLp5E Yup. Edit: Heres another interesting angle shot by a fan. I didnt know there were fireworks.
  11. http://imagecache2.allposters.com/images/pic/ATA/21 That was us last year. http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/d/df/Wackybye01.jpg/250px-Wackybye01.jpg
  12. Cab a mod please close this topic? It keeps reminding me of what could've been, and almost was.
  13. Well, aside from the Cubs loyalty carrying over, their luck also does.
  14. After Benson was down, I was hoping for Adrian Peterson to run it into the defense and tire them out. Terrible play-calling by Ron Turner. Terrible coverage even before the plays. Peyton Manning fooled us.
  15. Why couldnt Michael Jordan play Chicago Football? Or baseba- oh wait..
  16. Yeah, I sold all mine in the last couple weeks. With I had some more to sell!!! I just noticed an ungraded Contenders Auto RC at $2,500 with 3 hours left on ebay.   Time to change your sig, no?
  17. I dont see it either. Not many losing SB teams succeed after the following years.
  18. Just wondering, the only place I've heard about it is here, why all the sudden talk of Lovie leaving? I know he wants a new contract, but he's still got a year left, right? There were rumors the Cowboys were interested. He does have one year left. There's talk about trading him to the Cowboys for first round picks. I assume that's the media barking.
  19. My final 0.02 on the game: It was a great way to start. I couldnt think of a better way. I was at my cousin's house. We were so crazy I was about to puke. It's been a great season. It's sad guys like Urlacher and Kreutz may not get a ring, ever. I hope Lovie doesnt leave either. I will avoid all football media. Good luck having a good 5 months of bashing, Grossman.
  20. Z and Lee for Neifi! Hendry at his best.
  21. Whats more important to the Bears? First round draft pics, or Lovie Smith?
  22. It was still a good season. I prepared myself for a loss, so I am not that angry. Better luck next year.
  23. Near identical as last week.. everybody is going against the Bears. Hopefully, it will push them enough.
  24. T-minus 3 hours! We've waited 300 hours.. We can wait 3 more!
  25. 2007 Bears Super-bowl win = 2007 Cubs NL Central title?
