  1. What impresses me is the 0 walks! That is a big deal for Z!
  2. Seriously Mark O'Neal comes out after any play by the pitcher.
  3. IIRC he didn't do it once in Cincinatti. He's only done it about 5 times all year. It's nowhere near as big of a deal as his hustle may be. It's been way more than five times. I didn't see his last home run in Cinci... however, it has been irritating me for a while and Brenly has also made mention of it before. I don't see anything wrong with it. It's just a bit of flair, regardless of how old-school baseball guys might feel about it. I don't mind the emotion. I do mind the lack of hustle, although as Jon correctly points out, ARam is slow. He would have been out at 2nd. It's not like it was Walker or Hairston running. I actually haven't noticed him jogging anything out lately either....until tonight. GREAT catch by Burnitz!@!! Whoa! Nothing wrong with it.... #1. It plays right into the whole hustle thing. There was one a month ago where he posed and it ended up being a double and possibly a triple. #2. It's qutie disrespectful. All of the commentators make references from Steve Stone to the guys on baseball tonight. Why do you think the player gets beaned quite a bit after posing? If you think Aramis is capable of getting a triple on anything other than heart attacks by the entire OF all at once, then I don't know what to tell you. Next, Stone's act is wearing old with me anyway. He's got a big axe to grind, and it smacks of poor class on his part. I don't take much of what he says seriously. Besides, if you think Aramis poses, watch Manny Ramirez. THAT's posing. I don't really care about Manny, he's not on the team that I support. That's like a little kid justifying his behavior in school by saying the kid next to him also cheated. My point is, you hustle out of the box until the ball is out of the park. A-Ram NEVER does that. For a while it was okay because he hurt his groin every other week. But when is it time for him to finally hustle out of the box like most guys do? If Murton or Hairston did that Dusty would be all over them.
  4. Even though the sound isn't mic'ed that well--- you can sure tell that the crowd is HOT tonight.

  6. Not sure if it was mentioned earlier... 1 for 2 in AZ today.

  8. What's really annoying me about A-Ram is the fact that he always sits there and watches his home runs. I hope someone hits him sooon because if someone did that against the Cubs, I would be pissed off. Everytime he hits, waits, and admires his possible home run.
  9. Exactly Dude--- It's like saying Mike Lowell is worthless because he has had a bad season this year.
  10. I would foam at the mouth for Pierre! Kearns, I would not. Pierre is everything I want out of a leadoff guy.. Wheels and slap stick hitting. Anyone know his career stats at Wrigley?
  11. Injury update anyone? I thought after the Allstar break?
  12. This trade is as confusing as any of them. Gerut was DHing tonight, and we have a crowded outfield as is. It's possibly Hendry does not want Murton to sit on the bench and will send him and Greenberg to AAA. However, that will have the outfield quite crowded. There has to be another move in all of this. They can't let Cedeno and Murton rot on the major league roster. Something else has to come from all of this, but that is just my personal hunch.
  13. I believe that is what Cpatterson20 was getting at. And I was adding on. It is a message forum after all.
  14. No, its bits and peices of information that have been peiced together in a logical manner to come to a conclusion. This, in science, is called a hypothesis. In the tearms we speak in now, it is speculation. Now, no doubt it has holes. but when you put it all together, it does make sense. It makes no sense at all. Why would Cinci actively seek out and desire a mediocre outfielder as part of this trade? Why would the Cubs trade for Jody Gerut? Why would anyone sign Milton or Guzman to 4 year contracts? Why does Jose Macias have a spot on our roster? Why did Lenny Harris? Because deep down baseball is a boys club and if you have friends in the right places you get to keep your job. Most things in this game don't make sense.

  16. Your right. Your slam was directed at a large group. Those who do not agree with you. Saying that something is the only MATURE and RESPONSIBLE way to do something, implys that what other people do is immature and irresponsible. Hense, a slam. Wrong. I believe that to judge a trade before you've even seen the players is not a mature and responsible decision. If you feel otherwise fine. You might believe that waiting to see the actual production post-trade is unnecessary. You have that right. I don't believe it's the right thing to do. But Whatever, I'm not arguing with you about whether what I said was an attack or not. Think what you want, if a mod has a problem with that rather innocous statement of my PHILOSOPHY they can let me know. Badger just ignore it--there are lots of people who like to play parent around here. Your point was well taken from my end.

  18. I can understand that. Like most of us were complaining, the 12 pitchers. I think that is hurting us more than it's helping us IMHO. As much as they talk about cutting the staff down to 11, I'd be quite surprised to see it happen. And for no reason other than to spite Grieve's OBP. Actually Greenberg isn't at the park I don't think. Pat mentioned earlier that in order for him to fly tonight he had to get an MRI for a concussion. If he plays today it would be a miracle. What are you talking about? He is on the bench I have seen him twice.
