  1. as I pointedout the other day, take away his monster year at leadoff last year, and his stats are no different in the 5, 6 and 7 hole. I would like him 6th, where he's only had a handful of career ABs
  2. just a thought on the offense today, and if this is what Lovie was doing, it's brilliant. why give away your attack to a game you can win with defense when you are facing a team that runs the exact same defensive scheme the next week? if Lovie was just disguising his offense today, it's a fantastic coaching move. the big question is if.
  3. nowhere near to the extent they can go crazy on the Big East teams. the comparison is UConn and South Florida and Syracuse v. MSU, MN, and NW.
  4. By VORP, he was the best offensive player on the Cubs last year. Add in a healthy Lee, another Aramis season, and an improved season from Murton and I think the offense will be significantly improved. doesn't VORP measure how much above the actual guy that would replace you? in other words, isn't he using how much better Soriano is than Church to say he wasn't a top 35 player? Actually, it measures value against a hypothetical replacement player by position. So Soriano's VORP was measured against a replacement LF last year. This year, his production will be measured against a replacement CF, giving him a substantial boost in value. even so, seems a pretty narrow method of determining that he wasn't a top 32 offensive player.

  6. wow. USC will probably need a big time blowout to avoid a rematch for the National Championship
  7. makes a solid run, but it doesn't make up for it IMO. that nice run could have come with 30 fewer seconds on the clock.
  8. TJ so untough. you have to take the hit and stay in bounds there.
  9. alright, get that running game back in order and grind this sucker out with a 75 yard drive.
  10. Maynard has been a big part of why the Bears are still in this game.
  11. No can't be. DAMN! just an IV. not good for today, but not serious.
  12. run the damn ball. even when you start first and 15, run the damn ball.
  13. why no flag on the linebacker for throwing Jones to the ground?
  14. Lovie shows cajones going behind the side of the line that failed on the goalline
  15. nice pitch and catch there. way to be tough Mush.
  16. not in synch at all with the receivers.
  17. Pennington and Mangini keeping us in this game.
  18. I'm so sorry that will cost the Jets 5 Joe.
  19. hey didn't make it clear he was running a route, and it was obvious.
  20. c'mon. three and out. nope. buh bye momentum.
  21. Soriano is not very good. He wasn't going to be even close to the contract he was projected to get, and this 8/135 rumor is Hamptonian. It's like giving Mark DeRosa 5/60. I want smart transactions. offering too much can be a dumb transaction too. remember how much fun it was getting rid of an aging ex-superstar two years ago? now imagine trying to do it with four years left on the contract.
