  1. I missed it. what exactly is wrong with Tommie?
  2. This is a really good point that I was about to mention. The Bears are really set up to win THIS year. Hell, you know the defense is going to be worse next year, just based on the loss of Lance Briggs alone. They have to go for it this season, Grossman's development be damned. If Griese can help the team win more this year, they have to do that. So you'd advocate playing the inferior veteran over the younger player, when the veteran doesn't give you much over the younger player? winning with Lance Briggsat the expense of Developing Rex is not a good strategy for the long term health of the team. Your assumption that Griese would be inferior at this point to Rex is not a supportable assertion. as is your assumption he would be better.
  3. dumb dumb dumb. who has contain over there?
  4. I agree with Goose. smart play. flukish that Johnson picked it up. don't challenge this Lovie
  5. not really. It's an awful lot easier to hide a slumping number 7 hitter than it is to hide a slumping qb. no it isn't. you just need an O coordinator willing to do so. are you really going to argue the Bears didn't effectively hide Orton last year? same damn thing. Another terrible idea - we should hide him through play calling? How long before defenses start teeing off on that? ah, so let Griese throw the ball down the field. Brilliant!
  6. We'll see about that. There will come a point if things don't improve. We are fast approaching that point. I would agree if the Bears were run by reactionary fans, but they are not. they'll dial the offense down to what they would run should Griese be playing before just benching Grossman and bringing in Griese.

  8. I do not think Grossman is playing good by any means. but I think his play can be defended. there are essentiall three plays that all the hub bub is about today: missing wide open Moose - looked to me like Moose took too long to comeout of his second move. by that time Grossman looked to Dez and put the ball where it should be, but Dez wasn't hungry for the catch, waited for it to get to him, and the DB tipped it away. int at the 20ish - I'd say 9 out of 10 QBs make the same mistake. the only one's that don't are the freakishly tall who would not have lost track of the LB. int on the deep ball - it was well discussed. bad decision to try to go that deep on a day like today, but Berrian was open and let the DB have the play.
  9. You're right. Rex should block the D-line better. totally tongue in cheek.
  10. I didn't even realize that the penalty a couple plays ago WASN'T the hold of Tommie Harris. are you kidding me?
  11. didn't you see Goose's wind demonstration? I don't get Fox. And if the wind is so bad, dont bother trying, just let the other team down it, especially when its at the Min 42... nonono it bounced off a guy blocking the flyer. Oh, then in that case, Lovie should just have Urlacher throw him in a trash can for not paying attention to what the wind is doing and where the ball is going. it was a 20 yard punt. dude, you didn't see it. nobodies really at fault on the play. The guy who had the ball hit him is at fault. I don't bust it out often, but

  13. Benson runs right through that arm tackle that easily brought Jones down.

  15. what a terrible decision to go down the field when your receiver is open
  16. if that was Worrell again, he's gotta have his head examined.
  17. If I was any Bear I'd be afraid of using my biceps merely a reference to Jones's great physique not translating. sure Goose. get up to make a mistake.
  18. Benson moves a pile like Thomas Jones's bicep's wish they could.
  19. how'd you put that together so quickly?
  20. grossman has more than one option. he should know that if he's throwing downfield in this weather, berrian had better be pretty open. he wasn't. Berrian one on one against a bad defensive back isn't a terrible read. Bernard did a horrible job on that play by not coming back for it at all. But that was the primary read on the play and that's what he threw. There just isn't a reason to call that play in the first place. Rex's arm is alright, but that was just too far a throw for him. If he wants that read, then he needs to throw it sooner than that and he didn't. At least some of that is on Rex, like it or not. of course some is, but not as much as is being placed. Tim Ryan 'Johnson has the edge because he's managing the game.' what are we supposed to forget the tossup he made to Manning? he's just the league punching bag right now and it's not completely warranted.
  21. I wonder why more teams don't employe the pop up kick toward the side like we saw in Flordia-Arkansas yesterday. the guys that field the punts there aren't accustomed to fielding the kick and the blocking scheme isn't set up to block that spot on the field.
  22. grossman has more than one option. he should know that if he's throwing downfield in this weather, berrian had better be pretty open. he wasn't. he's still had less than a full season of experience as a starting QB. now he knows. was probably told, but any cocky young athelete isn't going to believe it. now he knows what the wind can and will do. if he keeps it up, I will be concerned.
  23. amazing. wish he wouldn't take those chacnes, but I take it all back Angelos.
  24. single coverage and your speedster has a step. it was not a dumb play. it is the exact decision one should make. the ball got hung up in the wind and Berrian let the corner have the play.
