  1. seriously guys, this UConn thing is about the equivalent of noting today's pitchers duel between Edwin Jackson and Jesse Litsch in an 'Other Games' thread. the only reason people are taking exception to me noting how un-noteworthy that update was is because I am the one that did it.
  2. why are you speaking for Cuse?
  3. Hey Yeti, NC Central tied with Presbyterian 7-7 early in the second period.
  4. who the hell cares? seriously, what makes you think anyone gives a damn about that game? Holy crap, take a deep breath. They're countless schools that people mention in these threads that no one else really cares about. well, you're reading tone into my post, but... yes, people talk about their alma mater. people talk about unusual things going on during random games, ie shootouts, punting competition games, upsets in the making, etc. people posting about lower end teams even from BCS conferences doing exactly what they should do against a team from a lower end non BCS conference, allegedly because one poster who doesn't post nearly as often as he used to might happen by, and under the assumption that said poster even gives a damn about said team? no, not really. just one conference centric poster.

  6. just about every ranked team looking highly unimpressive.
  7. dude, that's completely selfish. I know you want to see them live in SD, but they stand a much better chance to get through this if they don't have to face SD, regardless of no Bradley or Cameron, especially if up against Peavy and Young in games 1 and 2 at Petco. go Colorado, Brewers, Nats, Mets (cuz the Cubs don't stand much chance against Phillie's offense right now either).
  8. I grew up in a broken home as a latch key kid. my mom planted the seed, bringing me to a game at Wrigley every month of the 1977 season. I guess the seed planted by my mom sprouted and bloomed because Jack Brickhouse was my baby sitter.
  9. ok Bielema, it's become quite obvious that no one in the Big Ten, including the Badgers, can stop the spread offense, so how about going with it yourself next year.
  10. maybe its just hold overs from the days when the Cubs short season affiliate was the Emeralds, but when I spent a year at U of O, just about every student that was from the state of Oregon were Cubs fans. the rest all had loyalties to various Cali teams. thats really interesting. i didnt know that. ahh the power of WGN. perhaps it was just sample size, or just the in your face loyalty of Cubs fans, but during April I saw several Cubs hats on campus. then something really interesting happened. I was the RA of a frat house, and upon getting home from class one day, I found 7 or 8 of the frat boys with Cubs hats on, amongst the 20 or so kids huddled around the wide screen. they were all watching a skinny flame thrower from Texas setting a major league record with the nastiest breaking ball anyone had ever seen. after the celebration, I went back to my room, and started making plans to transfer.

  12. take it over SW Cubs fans.
  13. that vid in your sig is seriously screwed up. what the hell is with people.
  14. one of the worst calls i've ever seen.... hopefully we can get a screenshot or video of it. Even the ESPN guys said it was ridiculous. what happened? just a grounder to the padres' 3B, who threw across to 1B. Froemming called the runner safe and it really was not a bang bang play at all.... the runner was out by at least half a step and he completely blew the call. If you see it, you'll understand how bad a call it was. it was just coincidence that it came with one out, a runner on, and Braun and Fielder ready to come up and give them the lead.... but then the Maestro took matters into his own hands.
  15. it's definitely Ronnie's year.
  16. allow me Cuse...
  17. one of the worst calls i've ever seen.... hopefully we can get a screenshot or video of it. Even the ESPN guys said it was ridiculous. what happened? Bob mentioned during the Cubs broadcast. I didn't see it, but called a runner at first safe when he was out by a half step. just like you "happened" to miss one at second base at Wrigley in (was it?) 2004 v. the Cards, eh fatman.
  18. really good to know that he will not play a role in this division race. really unfortunate that he will more than likely get into the playoffs somewhere as his swan song.

  20. I am. I want no part of their bullpen and lucky ass offense. go Mets for that matter, because I want no part of those Phillie sticks.
  21. alright. now this team needs to make like Spinal Taps amps, and go to 11.
