  1. Wrigley Field, in its current form, looks great from the outside. What? I dont hate it, but I also don't feel it's a masterpiece by any stretch of the imagination. It's almost disappointing, save the Marquee Everyone is entitled to his/her opinion, even if it's bad and the person is an archetect.
  2. You just stay on your side of the river and no one gets hurt.
  3. Hopefully he's going back down to learn how to pitch better.
  4. I'm saying deGrom is injured. The Cubs will take this game. BOOK IT
  5. horsefeathers off
  6. Peterson pitched very well. It's not like he was throwing meatballs the Cubs were missing.
  7. The post-season tournament in baseball is so unlike the regular season, probably more so than any of the other professional sports. A team can win the WS with two hot pitchers and a little positive variance. Obviously, a stacked team might have better odds of winning, but a Cubs team with Scherzer and Hendricks pitching to their capacity can beat a better team on paper in a seven-game series.
  8. I’m here all week, folks. Don’t forget to tip your wait staff.
  9. Boog said there was a story in the Wall Street Journal saying that ball clubs were purchasing it. It’s not a player problem.
  10. Hopefully Jake doesn’t horsefeathers the bed here.
  11. Your logic doesn't add up. Heyward being cautious about not getting it and refusing the vaccine are not related. Who is bashing anyone for getting the vaccine? His point is a strawman/whataboutism argument that is not legitimate unless he's going into the stands to sign autographs.
  12. High school education combined with lots of money and an adoring public is a toxic brew of Dunning-Kruger for a lot of these guys. Layer in the prosperity gospel and history and it's a tough sell. It doesn't make Rizzo or Heyward bad people, merely willfully ignorant.
  13. I sure would like this team a lot more if Darvish were on the roster.
  14. He's going to K a lot, which is not the kind of hitter you necessarily want to add to this lineup. I think what actually separates him from those other guys is that it seems like he can actually play solid defense. Jake Fox could hit, you just couldn't put him anywhere and he wasn't good enough to be a DH. With Wisdom, you get a 5% chance of a Max Muncy thing, a pretty high likelihood he can be the next Bote (or the Bote we thought we'd be getting), and a decent chance his K rate goes to 40% and he falls into the Fox/Hoffpauer/LaHair category. Yeah I think this is where I'm at. One of the good things is that this lineup is going to change SUBSTANTIALLY in the next year or so. So while adding a .240/.320/.450 type of hitter might not be the ideal type of hitter for this moment, if he proves to be fairly real it can change how we approach this offseason. Like maybe you're a little less likely to hold on to Javy, so you can alleviate the RH swing and miss in the lineup. But obviously, we need to see a few hundred more PAs before we get too far down the road on thoughts like that. The best thing about Wisdom is he is a former 1st round draft pick of the Cardinals. There must be some slow-acting pixie dust that accidentally got sprinkled on him.
  15. When there is widespread use/abuse it is always the system that is at fault and not the individuals in the system. Trevor Bauer basically said he was going to do it and look at the contract he landed.
