  8. tbs, and this is much more a vote against fox than it is a vote for tbs
  9. that rutgers over usf pick was the easiest "upset of the #2 team in the country" pick ever
  10. Based on what? And as long as teams keep trying to shut down Rice and making Rutgers QB beat them, opposing teams are going to have success against Rutgers. Based on Michigan playing like a top ten team the last five weeks. That spread offense of Illinois' will be an issue for Michigan. When they've played spread offenses (Appy State and Oregon) they've looked terrible. plus michigan didn't exactly look like a premier team when they struggled with northwestern and eastern michigan
  11. including blowing the bases loaded, no out situation
  12. the maurice clarett team was completely uninspiring too, they won every game by about 3 points and were given major scares by mediocre teams like Purdue, Illinois and Cincinnati. Then they made the national championship game, did next to nothing on offense all game, and were saved by a bogus pass interference call. but yeah this team is even less inspiring than that one.
  13. You're only looking at this young offseason. Pirates already traded for Izturis and Morris to be two of their highest paid players. well yeah but i counted those as part of the littlefield era
  14. My friend Robert proposed the following trade to, let's call him, Fool: Robert gives up: B. Roethlisberger M. Harrison C. Portis Fool gives up: T. Romo M. Colston C. Benson Robert was in pretty poor shape at QB and was willing to downgrade at other positions to get a top fantasy QB. Now Fool is a guy who dropped Randy Moss in week 3 last year, in a 14 team league. He's a nice guy, but basically a dolt when it comes to fantasy football. He's also a pseudo Bears fan. So he rejects the trade because he wants to keep Benson, but replies with the following offer: Robert gives up: B. Roethlisberger S. Morris Fool gives up: T. Romo L. Johnson WTF?!?!? And of course people in our league are too stupid/lazy to vote to reject the trade, so now the one guy has a powerhouse with Portis, Addai and Johnson at RB, Romo at QB and Harrison at WR. Thanks a lot, Fool.
  15. No kidding. If Cal runs the table the rest of the way that play could cost them an NC shot. Unreal. What exactly happened, for those of us not watching? cal had the ball at the osu 15 with about 15 seconds left, and no timeouts left. The QB dropped back, looked around for a few seconds and the scrambled and was tackled in the middle of the field. Game over. This one's on Tedford too. You have your backup QB in there with no timeouts and 15 seconds left. By running another play when you don't have to, you're just asking for something to go wrong and there are many more things that could go wrong than could go right - and that doesn't necessarily even have to do with a QB's decision making process. The QB could trip and fall and you're screwed. It's just not worth it to run another play there. I agree to some extent, but I do think you can have the QB drop back, look for one receiver, throw it to him if he has a good look, and throw it out the back of the end zone if it's not there. That's a simple play with the potential for a big reward, and little risk. However, it doesn't seem like the QB was instructed to do this. btw did anyone notice that the cal QB ran off with the ball after getting tackled? He was trying to get off the field to let the FG team get on, and he forgot to leave the ball on the field. It was a total brain meltdown by him.
  16. Reds hire Dusty Baker as manager Cardinals fire Walt Jocketty Brewers bring back Ned Yost Astros hire Ed Wade as General Manager The Pirates are the only team that did something positive - fire Littlefield and Creech - but they're so far in the toilet that it doesn't matter.
  17. because the people who run the cubs are morons, that's why

  20. clearly nobody cares, but it's been a good game so far. Except for Big Game Schill, he crapped the bed.
