  1. our backup infielder with the .841 OPS isn't good enough for ya?
  2. BP on the deal: Subscribers Non-subscribers can read this By the way, joe sheehan of BP will be on outside the lines at 3:30 (i think that's 3:30 my time, eastern) and will be talking about the trade.
  3. if the cubs are close to winning the world series i'm calling out of work and driving to chicago. i'm not missing that party.
  4. Len and Bob asked him and he said he didn't think he got enough of it. He was surprised it went. oh okay... i didn't think that could be it because it was like 15 rows deep. it's not like the wind was blowing out either. either way, soto is the freakin man.
  5. Here's the video: http://mlb.mlb.com/media/video.jsp?mid=200807083094407 what's with the head shaking right after he hit the home run? i found that to be hilarious.
  6. if we win the world series, do those guys get rings?
  7. dayn perry forgot about marshall, and i strongly disagree that an injury to harden would mean big trouble for the cubs, but otherwise the rest of the article seems accurate. i will say, it's kinda nice that the cubs are a team that everyone else in baseball respects right now.... last year, winning the central was more a case of "tallest midget" than anything else.
  8. This statement to me, says that he is trying to give Cards fans hope that they are still in it for the long haul. But in turn, all this statement is....is false hope. To call LaRussa the "best manager" is ridiculous. LaRussa might be the MOST OVERRATED MANAGER this side of Joe Torre and Bobby Cox. wait so if larussa, torre and cox are overrated, then who the hell is a good manager?
  9. even the minor league teams are winning today... everything's coming up cubs!
  10. Yea his .394 OBP is totally reminicent of past Cubs players. And you're going on ignore. Thank god for that feature. Added him a long time ago.
  11. lol watch the replay of soto's home run on gameday.... he put his head down and shook his head after he hit it, i have no idea why. it was like 15 rows deep.
  12. i am a little gay for soto, and i'm not afraid to admit it
  13. everyone thinks fontenot is terrible b/c he's small and white, but in reality he can probably give you league-average offense for a starter at 2B.
  14. wow a 4 pitch walk to paul bako. that is God-awful. the days of "reliable good starter dempster" might be behind us.
  15. hopefully as a loyal dusty disciple, bako knows that he can't walk across home plate.
  16. with bako on deck, i'd prefer not throwing strikes there.
  17. can't believe jayson nix and his .342 OPS did not come through in a big way there.
  18. good news: bases loaded, no outs for the rockies. bad news: the guy at the plate has an OPS of .342, and he's not the pitcher.
  19. i would say "i can't believe the cards are going to shut the phillies out and beat cole hamels" but this is the cards we're talking about.
  20. Yes you're crazy for wishing we gave up more than we did. And for thinking that Hoffpauir will thrive anywhere as a full time player. i think LLF is hoffpauir's dad. that's the only thing that can explain his amount of hoffpauir love.
