The concern I have with Soto is that he appears to be one of those hitters that naturally hits into bad luck. It could be because he doesn't really have the ability to hit to all fields very well which makes him easy to defend against. He's also slow which hurts. His BABIP is low compared to his LD percentage but it's not that extreme. He's also hit 5 pop ups so far which is really bad this early. Soto has looked better when applying the eye test but he's really going to have to start hitting for some more power to really be productive and most of his bad luck has been on balls that would have been singles otherwise. a lot of the line drives straight to outfielders would be doubles. anyway, your idea that he "naturally hits into bad luck" doesn't make a lot of sense, since his babip was .332 his rookie year and .324 last year, and his lack of speed is not bad luck.

i see that the senators get a conditional second round pick for him. hopefully for the hawks the condition is that he does not end their season with a terrible giveaway in his own zone in the playoffs.

I know... I mean I have the Bulls but I know that feeling. You have to go from extremely engaged in sports to nothing. It's a weird feeling because there's just nothing going on. I know once the Bulls season is over, I can't see myself getting into the Cubs at all, so it will probably be a huge sports lull until September if the Bears are playing daytona cubs, catch the fever

meh, it was at like a 50 degree angle and luongo squared up pretty nicely. there was a little room to shoot at but nothing close to an open net.

that was dumb as hell. if there's one thing they're definitely going to call in overtime, it's an obvious penalty that creates a good scoring chance for your team.

yeah i have heard the stories about pie going out and drinking, not listening to coaches enough, so i can appreciate a veteran player taking him aside and saying "look man, you've got a lot of talent but you've already alienated one organization and you haven't proven a thing in the majors, and you're not going to get many more chances." i can't really appreciate a guy who says you're acting like an animal, a savage, and throws plantain chips at him. there are ways to get a message across without being a dumb bigot.

let's also recognize that we're being asked to assume that luke scott, a hick from the backwoods of florida, knows the dictionary definition of "savage" and is using the term in that context when speaking about pie. not to mention the part where he's throwing plantain chips at a latin american player.

wait everyone was saying that the hawks were in luongo's head and he is a playoff choker, now after two periods he has become in-his-prime dominik hasek? No I'm not saying that at all. Watch the game, Luongo is not making great saves, the Hawks are simply not getting any good chances due to the Vancouver defense. they've had a few, and i don't think the hawks have played particularly well. if they do play well they can get good chances.

You are seriously pathetic. Take out the word meaningless if it's going to keep you up at night. Makes no difference to me. (a) personal attacks are against board rules. (b) if i take out the word meaningless, it reads: "You see nothing resembling that in the video I linked of Pie freaking out in a winter league game?" the part about the winter league game, even without meaningless, suggests to me that you believe these games do not matter.
