  1. Looks like the 9 LOB prediction may end up being a bit low :(
  2. I disagree he needs to work on plate discipline. It isn't his fault that umpire blew that call. I love how Marquis can't hit for us either. Was it that far inside? I didn't get to see the replay.
  3. Pat just said that the Rockies haven't lost back to back home games in over two months.
  4. That was a poor call by the ump. That said, Pie has to protect the plate with two strikes and a runner in scoring positien.
  5. Yet another runner steals against the Cubs.
  6. Lets guess how many LOB we have today. I say 9.
  7. Lee sure is taking a lot of strikes lately.
  8. He's tried not to move too much.
  9. No, he's busy being the hitting coach for the nationals. Seriously. Dear lord, who thought of hiring him as a hitting coach? dude's the all-time leader in pinch hits! All-time. And why was he pinch hitting so often? Because he wasn't good enough to be a starter. EB was definitely just joking right there. Sorry, sometimes I'm bad at picking up internet sarcasm. the "dude" is usually a good indicator of sarcasm around here :) I'll remember that from now on.
  10. Not sure I like Jones in the two spot. Well, I don't like him anywhere in the lineup, but that close to the top seems especially bad.
  11. I don't think it's all that reliable, but that is a lot more likely then suddenly having a tear without re-injuring it (aggravating it, sure. From all we've heard though, it just continued to get more sore with him playing, and there was no re-injury point). It will probably continue to be there the rest of the year, but I find it hard to believe that Ramirez will miss more than a week or two with it, and probably less than that. Okay, man. Figured I would throw it out there. I just heard the same thing on ESPN 1000, ARam got a shot in the wrist and is out probaly until monday. What kind of shot? That's the funny thing, they didn't say. Probably cortozone? Probably. When I first read your post I thought it said that Aram was shot in the wrist. I was very scared for a second before realizing I had missed the word "a."

  16. Is Lenny Harris still out there somewhere?
  17. I thought he had been there for quite some time.
  18. Why does he swing at the first pitch after Oswalt just got done walking the last two batters?
  19. We should try to get all the lefthanders we can get just so we don't have to face them.
  20. I greatly enjoyed former umpire Ron Luciano's books. I think he had three or four. The titles I remember are THe Umpire Strikes Back, Strike Two, and Fall of the Roman Umpire. They aren't necessarily about how to be an umpire, but are stories about his experiences as an umpire in the sixties and seventies (maybe early eighties as well, can't remember). They were very fun to read and absolutely hilariouse. He was very witty.
  21. Goodness Marquis looks terrible tonight.
  22. I loved it when he gave the "sharp aquos" tv bit whenever they watched a replay. It was the most wooden speech I've ever heard. He said today they stopped him and gave the job to Pat instead.
