  1. Webb is making Cub's hitters look like little girls.
  2. I dont agree with this at all. Not against Webb. Yeah, Webb is someone who you need to swing at th first pitch more often than not. Unless it's out of the zone of course. Alot of frickin' ground balls, this could be a long night offensively
  3. Ain't that the truth.
  4. Yeah, I caught that too. I wish there wasn't a lag with WGN Radio....I'd just turn my TV volume down and listen to Pat & Ron
  5. I've got a fear that Z is gonna come out too charged and give up some quick runs tonight? Anyone else concerned about this? We can't afford to give up too many runs tonight.
  6. It can be changed with each step: division, championship series, world series. No. That's just flat wrong. Yeah, I misread...thought he was asking about lineups. Sorry
  7. Why? They aren't that good. The Diamondbacks are worse. I want to believe that, but the records tell a different story. And I don't think anyone could argue the DBacks had it rougher in the West. I'm with goons. I think we can win the series, but it will be a fairly tough task and we need to play good Cub baseball throughout. You could always say there are many keys to the series, but I truly believe Z is the Cubs key to a division series win. He pitches well, the Cubs win the series.
  8. That was an opportunity for Dusty to show leadership and calm the young pitcher down. I think the major blame falls on Dusty for that one failure. ________________________________________________________ Sandberg>Mazersoki>Morgan Seriously, what manager does not go out there in that situation and talk to his pitcher to 1) calm him down, and 2) give the bullpen time to get ready. I couldn't believe that Baker just sat there on the bench in that situation. It was Crusty, not Bartman that deserves the blame for not going to the World Series. Do the Cubs win that game if Baker goes out there? Not necessarily. But you have your left fielder going bananas's and your pitcher yelling at the ump. Baker didn't even budge to go out and talk with the ump. What a frickin' idiot! Damn! This thread is stirring up my anger. The Cubs better win the next 2 series so I can let this go. It's been eatin' me up for 4 years now. If they don't win, I'm gonna need therapy.
  9. No, the game was last night. They lost.
  10. I hope the Cubs can win the WS just for that poor guy's sake. He's been through a whole lot of crap for doing what any of us would have done. A lot of fans would, but not me. I was watching a game this weekend (can't remember which one). A foul ball was hit on the first base side and as the ball was caught, you could see several fans backing away from the ball and then clapped when it was caught. I don't blame Bartman for the loss, but there was no excuse for that. But I tell you who I blame, and that's Alou for the little sissy fit he threw in left field. Because of his fit, Mark Prior went balistic. And then I blame "toothpick Baker" for not going out to the mound to calm his pitcher. Instead, he sat like a fat dunce on the dugout chompin' on a small piece of wood while his entire team imploded. I'll never forgive Baker for his total ineptitude in game 6 and especially in 7.
  11. They aren't sweeping this one. I think it goes to 5. This is the same DBacks team I couldn't wait to get away from earlier in the year. They went to Milwaukee and got destroyed, then they came to us and inexplicably played out of their minds. I hate this freaking team. Not only for their ridiculous bucking of reality, but also because they're like the Marlins: they have no fans, so they wait for someone else to provide the excitement then they beat you. They're baseball leeches. No way this series goes 5 games. It ends Saturday... MAYBE Sunday if Z can't get it done tonight. He'll get it done. I have no doubt. I don't think any of these games will even be close. Please help my propensity to be negative. Why do you say so?
  12. For a second I thought you said "letdown." Yeah, I'm a typical Cubs fan -- always thinking the worst.
  13. Good breakdown on both pitchers. http://www.usatoday.com/sports/baseball/playoffs/2007-10-01-scouting-zambrano-webb_N.htm
  14. Hart, Hart, Hart, I want Hart
  15. It can be changed with each step: division, championship series, world series.
  16. I think our pitching was a tad better back in 2003. Offensively, we are lots better now.
  17. Is this your way of dealing with possible disappointment? Because out of all the matchups, this one doesn't scare me. If we get past Arizona and have to play Phillies...now they scare me.
  18. Anyone have a link where we can see the highlights of this?
  19. They can sit in the dugout. Mark Prior did a couple times this year. That's cool. I wonder how many actually do, though. It would seem Marquis might have a chip since he wasn't on the Cardinals 25 man last October.
  20. I've got a question: What if one of the players, not on the roster, wants to attend the game. Can they be in the dugout or do they have to sit out in the stands?
