  1. Don't hate them...hate this frickin' joke of a team called the Chicago Cubs
  2. You know normally I say, "stop that", but I'm feeling the same way. We're supposed to be the veteran team...the team with the better pitching. Damn it, damn it, damn it. And now an infield hit.
  3. Get Lily out of there now!!! Thanks, Ted, thanks a lot
  4. Get Hart up in the pen. We cannot keep this bum in here to long.
  5. I think we're gonna see Hart tonight.
  6. Soriano better get use to this. If the Cubs advance, he ain't gettin' nothin but junk. Teams aren't gonna let him beat them.
  7. Amen....and Amen to the gentleman who said goodbye to Kendall
  8. our GM signs free swingers and our minor league coaches don't preach plate discipline Absolutely true - the organizational philosophy is what causes this mess. Having 1 or 2 free swingers on a team is typical, but having a lineup full of them leads to exactly what we've seen all year long - we'll go on hot streaks and win games 10-1 and 13-2, and then turn around and get shut out 3 days in a row. Free swinging breeds inconsistency and the worst thing is that a lineup of free swingers makes it too easy for a good starting pitcher to get our guys out. And this doesn't look to change in the next few years either. Sadly you're correct. I haven't watched much baseball this year, so it's really striking when you get to the playoffs and you watch how the different team's offenses approach their turns at the plate and you can't help but see how much different the Cub hitters are in general. There are some exceptions, but like I said, you just can't build an entire team or organization around filling your lineup with free swingers who just don't take control of the strikezone and make the pitchers give in to THEM for a change. Not to say we might not still come back and win everything this year, but I think that approach makes it more difficult on us than it has to be. Yeah, we are defintely not one of the better offensive teams in the playoffs.
  9. Murton will give us some patience here.
  10. Hey, don't worry, we got Marquis for long relief if we need him.
