mckinney has walked a lot this year and has 10 home runs. from a tools stand point, he is good at everything, but not elite at one thing, has a great swing, and a good aptitude. that's about as almora as it gets.

Not really. Alcantara is playing CF as often as 2B these days. Castro, Baez, Russell.... Depends if they see Bryant as an OF, too.

I believe they use the rest of this year to ensure another top five pick, while setting up next year for the first big wave, while seeing what they have in beeler, wada, if arrieta is legit, and if bosio can really do something with straily, while wood works out some kinks, with a bevy of decent to above average arms to use samardzija money on this offseason.

McKinney is a 19 year old CF who was the 2nd ranked Oakland prospect preseason. in A+ this year, at 19, 10.8/17.4 BB/K%, 241/330/400 slash, was 24th overall pick last year, and looks to have speed and power.

this deal simply HAS to include millone, etc with russell and mckinney, and then it gets warmer. if starlin is involved we're getting into call up baez/alcantara territory, and sonny gray.

i don't see how this all adds up, frankly. if it included samardzija, hammel, valbuena, and alcantara from the cubs side, it'd truly have to be stunning, indeed. i also don't really trust the a's system. addison russell completely tore his hamstring. ynoa is a poor bullpen guy old for his league. their alcantara underwent tjs in may. mckinney as another outfielder with schwarber, bryant, almora, soler, etc etc... stun me, theo.

ynoa is almost 23 in high a with an era over 7 and an xFIP at 4 in 28 innings out of the bullpen.
