  1. Moore and Finkelmeier on the court at the same time? PUKE. I don't get why Roth wouldn't be in the game to end the half.
  2. I was afraid PSU might just walk over us since the Iowa loss made this game more important to PSU.
  3. I am getting excited for the IU-PSU game. Hey this is our version of the NCAA tournament so I have to enjoy it. :stickman:
  4. Beating Penn State would set up a IU-Purdue rematch on Friday. I'd probably skip work and drive down to Indy for that game. Now I don't expect to beat PSU but at least that is a game where I can see IU staying close and having a chance to pull out an upset in the final minutes. I just want that 7th win darn it. :x
  5. I am a Big Ten fan but dear lord all these 40-some point games are atrocious. This league can be good AND not be terminally boring at the same time. It has happened before.
  6. And add Marvin Harrison too. lol
  7. Our anti-clutch team would have missed the final shot anyways. I think Roth should be in the damn game for the last 5 minutes or whatever when it is a close contest. I mean I know the defense keys on him and we set poor screens but there is always the dumb luck chance he could get lucky and get an open look and I'd pretty confident he would hit the clutch shots unlike most of the rest of the team.
  8. :banghead: Just make ONE SHOT plz?
  9. Another former Fort Wayne Wizard! \:D/
  10. uhhhh you are still penn state  can you just let us pretend we're a basketball school for one lousy year? ok
  11. uhhhh you are still penn state
  12. Wisconsin is making a nice late season push. Up at halftime against Sparty.
  13. With Granger out I kind of figured this game to be a loss for the Pacers. Oh well they probably will insist on winning 32-33 games anyways and ruining their draft position as usual.
  14. Okay so why exactly were the Purdue fans chanting "OVER RATED" near the end of the game?
  15. The IU football one was funny. And true.
  16. Gus Johnson is doing the Michigan-Minnesota game on the Big Ten network. \:D/
  17. Don't like the word they used but they won so I think they can chant what they want. I just found it rich considering they all probably went home with their sisters that night. And saying that is somehow more classy than what they were saying to him? Don't get mad at someone else being classless if you aren't going to be either. But what Andy said was true. :good:
  18. So I take it you missed the part where I said I would be happy with a NIT berth next year. Or is that still too outrageous? lol I still think that's pretty big expectations for a team that only has one conference win this year. Granted, they bring him a couple good players next year though. I think Indiana will be better, but possibly not an NIT team next year. We'll see though. Yeah but we have been "in the game" in well over half our conference losses so I can't help but feel like several of those games could be turned into "wins" with actual talent on the floor instead of a rag tag collection of walk on's and scrubs. And we do have probably at least 3 guys on the current team who could be core players next season (Nick Williams, Tom Pritchard, Matt Roth).
  19. I know I predicted a NCAA tourney bid and "contending" in the Big 10 next year......a few months ago or whatever, much to the bemusement of SSR but I will say this, I'm fine if we are merely a NIT team next year. Actually seeing the stark, cold reality of this season has me prepared. But I think we will end up being squarely on the bubble next season. I'm just very excited to see if we can maintain the same level of effort/intensity with a more talented group of kids. I didn't mean contend for the conference title. I meant contending as in not being an easy win for everyone on the schedule. The only teams I see head and shoulders above IU next year are Michigan St, Illinois and Minnesota. Purdue is an easy couple notches better, but I don't think they are great and won't get a ton of help next year. IU should be better than NW, Michigan, Penn St, and Iowa next year. And should be right on par with Wisconsin and Ohio St. How they fare vs. the teams on their level will dictate on if they play in the real postseason or not next year. I know, I was just referring to what I had stated previously here. I got carried away, I admit it. But I do expect us to be very competitive in terms of being a tough team to beat next season and we actually will be capable of winning a few games, lol. That is kind of the point of what I had posted today although obviously it is lost on at least one person. That I've realized it is best to dial back the expectations. The Big Ten has been insanely competitive this season so I certainly don't expect IU to suddenly become a top 3 team in the league next year. But hopefully top 6 at worst.

  22. You do realize our annoying scrappy white guys will keep that game close and possibly be in a position to win the game in the last 5 minutes right? \:D/
  23. Fortunately for us Crean has been working hard for months now and we have a recruiting class coming in next season that is Top 10 at worst, maybe even Top 5. If he can get those kids to play as hard as the current group then next season will be a bit more fun to watch. RSCI isn't a huge fan, with IU coming in at 16th as of their November update. This wouldn't take into account Rivers(3 star on rivals) though, and I think the big addition for Indiana next year is depth. Being able to 9 deep without resulting to walks on who can't shoot or dribble or guys who should be redshirting is a big help. I could be mistaken but I think IU is after one more kid and if they get him, it would push them into the Top 10. I really don't follow the recruiting talk as much as others do, I will admit as much. 16th still sounds pretty good to me at this point. And yeah getting some depth will be cool. Quality depth.
  24. Yawn. It's a road game, Big Ten homering is brutal. Maybe they do things differently in the Patriot league, but you'd be hard pressed to find a Big Ten fan not agree that road teams get hosed. Find me the ref complaints on games in Champaign. Last game you had a Kansas and Iowa fan laughing at the homering, and this game you had an IU fan jokingly say nice tackle to his own player. Absolutely correct, I mean I've been watching Big Ten basketball for 22 years now and the road team has always gotten the screw job. It is just an accepted part of life to me so I rarely even complain about it anymore. And sure, it is the same way in other leagues I would think. A road team in the Big Ten has to outplay their opponent to win the game and generally I think when you accomplish that, you win. But you can't expect the refs to help you at all and generally the teams that lose on the road and the fans whine about the officials, I think in most cases you could point more to what the losing team did and did not do as being the deciding factor as opposed to bad calls.
