  1. Losers I'd still have to rate "Let's go Peay" as the best fan section chant ever.
  2. What a load of crap. Everyone knows Aquafresh is where it's at. [-(
  3. Dang. I mean half the fun of watching this game was going to be seeing some kid run into a brick wall. What a buzz kill. ;)
  4. It is truly dumbfounding isn't it?
  5. I know I"m just a stupid IU fan, but have I missed something that indicated Harris has no shot of going to IU? I don't follow it closely enough to know for sure, but I don't recall seeing anything of that nature out there. I know his mom and dad are Purdue grads, so that could play a role perhaps. I have no idea if IU has a shot or not, I guess I am just saying I haven't seen anything that indicates they don't. cuz SSR says so. :?
  6. Dribble, Dribble, Dribble, Dribble, Dribble, Dribble, Dribble, Dribble, Dribble, Dribble, Dribble, Dribble, Dribble, Dribble, Dribble, Throw ball out of bounds. Well played sir. The day I don't have to see Daniel freaking Moore on the court for IU anymore will be a very happy day. I will be sure to mark it on my calendar. :clapping:
  7. I just read some moron on the IU Scout board say that Moore should play ahead of Hulls. Wow.
  8. Fairly convincing win for IU but I guess WSU's point guard did not play due to injury and apparently he is supposed to be good. Pat Tabler's kid playing for Wright State, yes that world famous Pat Tabler who played for the Blue Jays. :hello:
  9. Stick around. When Illinois starts losing games this thread gets really entertaining. Almost as fun as watching Robbie Hummel tear an ACL. If you missed the first two guys don't worry he'll be back next year. You lucky the Bum ain't here to set you straight! lol
  10. It is the nature of the beast man. You can't enter this thread without a sense of humor if you are an IU fan. Of course it is going to trend towards Illini talk, that is just the way it is being on a Chicago oriented sports site. I won't lie and say I haven't gotten mad and sniped back at 'em in the past but end of the day you have to be like RMK and just relax and enjoy it sometimes. :P
  11. You can say that all you want, I disagree. Bear in mind I'm not saying I expect to get Harris, I just give us more of a chance than you do. :P
  12. Yogi should commit very soon, his dad has already said today that Cody's decision will move up Yogi's decision timeline. Crean is also after Gary Harris very hard, if we got him and Yogi that would give us a really nice 5 man class. Jeremy Hollowell could still be in the picture too. Main question right now is whether Crean will use the over-sign for 2011 and bring in one more player. If he does that, then the 2012 class will only be 5 guys instead of 6. I can't imagine there is anyone left for 2011 worth offering so I'd rather bank the scholly for a possible 6 man 2012 class.
  13. The Pacers 3rd quarter stats vs Denver tonight: 54 points 20/21 field goal shooting (made 20 straight shots before missing the final shot of the quarter) 8/9 from 3 point range Just amazing.
  14. I had almost given up on Crean. Hopefully, he is able to land a few more quality recruits for 2011 and beyond, and IU soon becomes relevant again. I'm really struggling to understand the train of thought that had you ready to give up on Crean after two seasons. Rebuilding a roster when you are starting from scratch is not a quick and easy process. To be fair, in a sport where you can turn over 50% of the people who play meaningful minutes for you in one year, it actually can be a pretty quick (though not always easy) process. Particularly at a school with the tradition and regional recruiting resources of Indiana. We had to turn over the entire roster though with zero time to recruit quality replacements since Crean was hired in April before his first season. No returning players of note besides a couple walk on scrubs. So our first team under Crean was almost entirely freshman and only one of them (Verdell Jones) was actually good at basketball at this level and he was still very shaky at times that first year. Then we actually brought in some talented frosh in Year 2 but again, a team that young with no depth..........unless you are bringing in the second coming of the Fab Five then it isn't easy to win with youth and even the Fab Five actually had some experience on the bench. Also I think we had chemistry issues last year related to assistant coach Roshown McLeod and also Jeremiah Rivers who more or less acted like a spoiled rich kid (which he is lol). It just isn't the typical case of a new coach taking charge at a traditional program when you factor in those circumstances.
  15. I see. I am not exactly the most patient fan either. When Crean took over I had unrealistic expectations too. I really thought Creek/Watford/Hulls/etc would be able to do a lot more than they did last season. I initially thought maybe by Year 3 we could be back in the tourney but obviously now having lived through the past two seasons I see just how tall of a task this is and while it is painful to see us lose 20 games in back to back seasons, I've been able to convince myself to stomach it for now in favor of what I believe will be a brighter future. My expectations are grounded now, I know this season any goal above NIT is asking too much. I also expect that 2011 and 2012 can be the seasons where we really start to metamorphosis back into a winning program. Hoping to get back to the tourney by 2012 at least. And if we get Cody & Yogi and Crean keeps recruiting at that kind of level then the future beyond 2012 could get bright in a hurry.
  16. That's kind of what I thought too. I don't think I would be all that excited for the guy, but that's probably not fair since he isn't his brothers. Cody's really important to IU for 2 reasons. The first is what people have mentioned is that he is seen as the piece that might bring even more elite recruits to Indiana. And the 2nd is simply that IU could really use another big body. We all know that Crean can recruit guards. To pair them with big men with talent makes those big men really important pieces. IU doesn't need Zeller to actually be the 20th ranked player in the country for him to be a huge get for them. They just need a solid player at the positions that they are sorely lacking at and also a possible help in recruiting momentum. I had almost given up on Crean. Hopefully, he is able to land a few more quality recruits for 2011 and beyond, and IU soon becomes relevant again. 17. so what are the odds IU gets him over UNC and Butler? The Perea commitment couldn't have hurt. Depends on who you listen to I guess. I think IU has a solid chance here but I'm far from calling it a lock. Just have to wait and see. Yeah I think getting Hanner helps and also it should help that Yogi is likely to commit to IU if Cody commits. At least that has been the line of thinking for while now. Apparently this will be a media only event, some people are reading bad things into that. Maybe Cody doesn't want a bunch of nutjob fans mobbing him, lol. The event will be streamed live on the local Washington radio station 107.9 FM. Illinois fans got pessimistic about Randle once it was media-only as well. I guess I need to stop reading so much into people's opinions on Peegs and Illinois Scout board, because I haven't seen an IU fan with a doubt about getting Zeller on either of them. That's why I thought it would be such a damning miss, but if you don't consider it a lock, and he's not a make-or-break recruit (on his own at least, I do agree that he'd go a long ways towards convincing some others to follow him.) Don't get me wrong, our fan base will crap a goat if we don't get Cody. I won't even want to read an IU message board if that happens, heck we had people saying Crean should be fired last night when we were trailing to Ferris State in an exhibition game LOL. Ultimately I don't really think Cody is necessarily a make-or-break recruit although obviously as we both have acknowledged it could have a ripple effect with other recruits like Yogi. People do have their hopes up about it and it seems the common theme is that signing Cody would be symbolic of IU finally regaining control of the state of Indiana on the recruiting scene. End of the day I think Crean has done everything humanly possible to woo the kid. He started recruiting Cody very early on in the process has been involved with him a while now. So if Cody chooses to go elsewhere I don't think it is a mark against Crean necessarily (kind of depends on Cody's reasons I suppose). We'd have to just move on and we would still have a shot at a very good 2012 class. But yeah I'd rather just see Cody commit and not have to worry about the other side of the coin. I'm just taking the cautious optimism approach, that is all.
  18. There has been some late buzz about Butler still having a chance. But it is hard to know what to believe tbh. Each fan base feels they are the team he will choose.

  20. Cody Zeller announcement to come at 1:05pm on Thursday from his high school gym.
  21. IU rallied to win 78-65 in overtime, lol. \:D/
  22. IU is losing 51-40 to Ferris State with 7 minutes left in the game. #-o
  23. I hate you and your cold, black heart. [-(
  24. Ugly win. I'll take it. I don't have much faith in this team but as long as they are still alive in the division race I'll roll with it. :good:
