  1. Through a source, there has been some chatter this week, nothing more, nothing less. The number of homers that Hill and Marshall gave up in their last starts alarmed some folks I'm told. My sense is that both will be under some scrutiny in their next starts. The big question I have is that if Marshall or Hill were dealt for a major bat, who would step into the rotation? The homers Lilly gives up isn't alarming them as well? Good question. I asked that question too. The source indicated the focus was on Hill and Marshall because of their "cheap" production and age. So, we're focusing on trading with a team that would want long term cheap production?
  2. Nifty DP there. Makes Pagan holding AJ at first even bigger.

  4. He can't play every day. Ok, well I think he can. I also think he needs to be surrounded by better talent. I also believe he should be a 2nd base, not at shortstop, but they have many 2nd baseman right now. One thing i was wondering, does his batting average drop corralate with his spot int he lineup? why would it matter if he were surrounded by better talent? I think it's because if we had better talent, it wouldn't matter if I shortstop sucked.
  5. Is that the official term? yes. The first inning it was the shape of Arkansas, then Texas, then Wyoming. I'm expecting Florida this inning.
  6. Ok, Buerle hit Ramirez. Someone needs to beat his ass now.
  7. I was going by Sportsline for the pitch counts. One pitch difference on Z doesn't surprise me...but the discrepancy on Buerle is noticeable.
  8. Howry didn't cost the team the game. Leaving 13 men on base did. Through the first three innings, the Cubs had left 7 men on. That's passing up on way too many opportunities. Furthemore, Bowen could have scored on Pagan's double in the second, but Quade held him. If he scores that run, the game is completely changed.
  9. Orioles do that, too. Pretty much every team does. It takes about 5 years or so the be removed from their email list assuming you don't buy anymore tickets from them. Atleast that was the case when I attended the Cubs series in San Francisco in 2001 and I was removed from their email list about a year ago. I'm guessing all the teams work along those same lines. That's about right.
