  1. The Reds are going no where. Cubs need some bats. How about this deal? Reds get: Rich Hill Matt Murton Scott Eyre Cubs get: Adam Dunn Javier Valentin Cubs add a wonderful bat in Dunn and get a catcher that's better than what we currently have. The Reds get Hill and a replacement outfielder in Murton. It's become evident that Murton has no place in Chicago. The Reds take Eyre to help even out salaries, though the Cubs are still taking on some money in the deal. The Cubs will have to find a starter to replace Hill. The deal could be tinkered to include another prospect moving from the Cubs if the Reds would take Jones instead of Murton.
  2. Maybe Cousin Jim will spend his trying to get a catcher who can hit higher than his weight.
  3. Hill for Dunn anyone? I might even throw in Murton if they'll take Eyre off our hands.
  4. If I don't go tonight, it's looking like I may not get to a game. I've just been recruited to be the official scorer for my nephew's all-star team.
  5. Either way, we lose ground today.
  6. None. And Hill should have a pretty long leash, seeing as he's *still* the Cubs second best pitcher this season. Rich Hill's ERA is now 3.84. Ted Lilly's is 3.84 as well but has been a bit more consistant. I'd say Hill is our 4th best pitcher behind Z, Lilly, Marquis That's a good point. Our biggest issue is we have no one to replace him if we were to use him as a trading chip.
  7. I think it's the right call, but Hill is leaving the curve up and hanging it. If he could bury it in the lower part he'd get the K. yeah, i was joking...hill looks terrible today. He has struggled with his curve recently. He leaves it up in the zone. You can't do that with major league hitters. Even worse, he's letting guys get on base in front of the big hits. He needs to figure it out. We all know he can be a very good pitcher, but he cannot afford to hang that many curves especially when he's ahead of the hitters. His fastball isn't good enough to be his K pitch, so he needs to be able to put that curve where he wants it.

  9. I'd do a Hill for Dunn trade right now. Might even throw in Murton.

  12. The Nats will score one more at least before the inning is over.
  13. Hill cannot leave the curve up like that. It will get hammered every time!
  14. Hill needs a DP here. I don't feel confident he'll get it.
  15. yeah, i won't be redundant and mention...SOTO but...i really would much rather have hill in there than bowen That's not saying much.
