  1. Glad we didn't decide to let the guy who had all those career saves pitch the ninth inning today. He's been horrible.
  2. Theriot's grit fought with Erstad's grit and won.
  3. Well, that was one of the strangest K's I've seen.
  4. I wonder if when the Astors are 13 back in July if they would consider trading Tejada.... :-k
  5. At how much it would've taken to get Tejada and his salary? I'm not so sure. Luke Scott, pitchers Matt Albers, Troy Patton and Dennis Sarfate, and third baseman Michael Costanzo is what the Astros gave up. While that's a lot, had we offered Murton, Gallagher, Veal, Cedeno, and a lower level minor leaguer, we probably could have at least competed with the Astros line-up. Having Tejada would have allowed us to hit Fukudome second and use Tejada fifth.
  6. Just think had we had made attempts to go after Tejada instead of Brian Roberts...
  7. Really? He's been pitching fine. I'm confident in our bullpen as long as Howry does not pitch and it would be nice to keep him well-rested. Moot point now I understand the need to keep him rested, but he's only at 82 pitches. If he can get through with a fifteen pitch inning in the seventh, then he could still be lifted under 100 pitches. I don't think that's overworking Zambrano at all.
  8. Zambrano only at 82 pitches. He's good for one more inning.
  9. I really hope that this is the Zambrano we see for the remainder of the season.
  10. I'd prefer to have it done away with, but it's not something I get too worked up about.
  11. Braun would be the last of the three I'd trade. i'd imagine Laporta would be the first to be traded, he'll be cheap and have the most trade value, and Braun and Fielder should be entrenched as franchise faces by then (if they aren't already) Unless the Brewers don't think they can afford both Braun and Fielder. Once they aren't paying Sheets, they should be able to afford Fielder and Braun.
  12. The Cubs game would have been blacked out for everyone on EI today because all games before 6 pm are blacked out on Saturdays. Thanks for the answer. Is it just me, or are blackout rules just getting dumber and dumber? EI has had the Saturday blackout rule since its inception. Actually they seem to be relaxed some this year. In year's past, I was blacked out of all Astros or Rangers games that weren't on Fox Sports SW. This year, I can't watch the other team's broadcast, but I can see the home broadcast of those games.
  13. After Sheets goes to the Yankees this offseason, they may be able to pay both Fielder and Braun.

  15. I feel much better than I thought I would now that the game is over.
  16. time to reconsider the crew you run with. although I do have one yankee fan friend, but it's not something I'm proud of. Trust me, I know. I had made some brats food and stuff for the game today so I went to go tend to them. He was just sitting in my basement and jacked my account. Well, I hope you didn't share the brats with that ass.
