But he has played well in Iowa this year? or were you just saying he has been playing in Iowa Yes, I was saying he hasn't played well up until he got to Iowa this year and began to hit again.

It definitely shows how badly they wanted to be rid of him. I know they'll have Bay for a reasonable price for the near future, but to add prospects with Manny to move him shows they really wanted him gone.

Not a problem..I'll wait. I'm fairly certain that you're not picking my guy anyway. I'm out after about 3:45 so if the picks aren't in by then you'll have to wait till tomorrow to pick again. Not really a big deal, but just figured I'd let you guys know I won't be around. That's fine with me...my second guy may be on your list...I'm not sure.

These are the potential call-ups: Pitchers: Wuertz, Ascanio, Hart, and Guzman. Hill is a wildcard here. Given his recent struggles again, probably not. Position players: Hoffpauir and Pie. My guess is Koyie Hill is added to the 40-man and brought up. I just don't think Fox and Fuld will get call-ups.

That's why I'd try to get him on a minor league deal. In September we could have both Lopez and Ronny on the bench. Lopez is passable at SS. He'd be better than trying to use Fontenot or DeRosa at SS, but a good bit worse than Cedeno with the glove. His bat hasn't been there for two years, and I'm unsure why. For a few years leading up to 2007, he was quite the hitter and he's only 28.

The Nationals released Lopez. Link. He's been pretty bad this year and wasn't great last year, but at one time he could hit. He could be washed up, but he's a middle infielder with a little power and speed. I wonder if we could get him on a minor league contract, call him up in September, and milk a hot streak out of him.

I'm trying to get the wife to agree to letting me go to Houston again in September. I think that would be an appropriate time for a clincher.
