  1. I would be ticed if we traded at the last minute for the guy who caused our loss alex gonzoles
  2. i don't think you understand how universities work. they run themselves like businesses, right or wrong Wrong
  3. Let's see, tax supported State colleges ad universities. I would expect them to recruit as many in state kids for football, basketball or any other sport as possible, and then after that outside the state, then minimum slots for people outside the country. My kids/students eventually stayed four years at the respective college, struggled through financially, and did very well in the NCAA meets. someday if your child or student you may coach is in the same situation you may understand.
  4. Had a coupe shot putters that were D1 caliber. Their heart was to stay in N.Arizona and go to N.A.U The coach there recruited two Swedes and a Pol. all lasted two years until the Olympics came around. A second instance occurred with my 5000 meter specialist who went to Univ. of Tenn and struggled to pay for it while two Kenyan somehow received full rides. I believe they should have the freedom to go here but they soon dropped out once they had built enough money up in road-racing circuit. I also believe w should firsts watch out for our own before handing money out to foreign students
  5. they can train over here but I don't think we should be handing out scholarships to swim and run over here.
  6. My god that was the most intimidating win I have ever seen in track and field, and if it wasn't for Phelps tonight I would say in any olympics. (including the Eric Heiden Olyp.) Now I want him to run through the tape and run a 9.5
  7. The men's marathon is but it suppose t flip flop in four years
  8. it's equestrian for people. basically, but always fun as a track athlete to jump inot the water jump once done with your event
  9. how much you want to bet a Kenyan qualifies for the finals of the steeple, which is by far the hardest event in Track and field
  10. honest to god the second basemen for the canadians is named Stubby Clapp. and it is a true name. I would have shot my parents here is the roster for Canada http://66.241.210.162/files/2008%20Olympic%20Roster%20-%20media.pdf
  11. i'm not sure if i'm loving watching this now or hating it. it's pretty fascinating how high they get...but it's trampolining! they had speed walking last night, it was pathetic and sad. It was pretty boring, went faster when I fast forward it at 300x, but I will give them credit the wnner avg. 5.50 mile pace. I don't average that anymore running hard for 10k
  12. 4-2 losing to the canucks. How can we be losing now 4-3 Terry Tiffy dbls
  13. I hate that reference...Last time e won the 1500 was the last time the Cubs one the WS.
  14. Zup? http://www.visasinfo.com/UserFiles/china-flag.gifhttp://www.visasinfo.com/UserFiles/north-korea.gif http://www.visasinfo.com/UserFiles/CubaFlag.gifhttp://www.visasinfo.com/UserFiles/vietnam.gif http://www.visasinfo.com/UserFiles/Laos(1).gif and those east German doctors went to China or was it Balco?
  15. Albert Pujols is next up on floor exercise. *L*
  16. Ok girls, in the locker room beat the crap out of them or give them a wedgy
  17. What I heard was they process their birth cert. through the Dominican Republic
  18. Agree, taght for 23 years now and that age and none looked that young...ok maybe one
  19. a couple Olympics ago they put a minimum age of a gymnast, what is it? Because that chinese uneven bar girl looks five
  20. Ow, that hurt. I remember my sister had that poster of him and his 7 gold medals.
  21. not sure, but i like it. I worked my first ever track meet earlier this year and Steeple Chase was one of the events. It's perhaps the stupidest, most bizarre event ever. that is why I did it in college. It was always the first event in the morning and after youdid it you were done for the day because it was so exhausting, then as steeplechasers we just sat in the water jump all day enjoying the meet. Most embarrassing moment though was when I fell into the water jump on the first lap and had 7 to laps to go soaking wet
  22. peon third world country? china is the largest country in the world and their olympic teams aren't just highly trained, they're bred especially for competition. That is why I do not want to lose to them, esp. that swimmer who coaches himself and all the ones not with the sponsors or with profession coaches(and had to work at home depot) those are the people I respect the most. Ya, I love the "we are the world " crap but when it comes down to it I want to kick some major commilist butt. (commilstic=communism and capitalist)
  23. they're leading because they're better. the americans are sticking the landings but the chinese exercises are insanely hard. the triple twisty thing on the high bar isn't insanely difficult. I'd have given him straight tens
