  1. Way to go girls!!!! 4x4000 gold. Russia v. america classic
  2. that Kenyan was crazy fast in the marathon, is is the Usain bolt of the Marathon. 80+degrees and 70 percent humidity and 2:06, he was freaking fast. That is about a 4:42 pace or faster
  3. 4X400 women's team is beautiful....and they run well
  4. Big misplay by the brazilians...Set 1 to us! Dang, it is raining and the satellite is out. keep us informed, please
  5. I guarantee that what you teach your kids to do will destroy any team running for a gold medal. Why would you say that? do you know me or the technique I espouse? They used a hand-off that went out with the late 70's. I think in 22 years of coaching and having only one drop, and that is because she was insistent on doing what the other coach told her, give the technique credibility. colleges that use it include Tennessee women's program Baylor, Penn, Penn State, SMU and the US Para-olympics, and taught to the Special Olympic competitors at the 2007 World Games. The US has relied to heavily on their raw speed rather than great baton passes which they needed more when dealing with the likes of the Jamaicans.
  6. This gem from the guy complaining about a silent protest supposedly causing violence. Huh??? should not coaching be to blame on this one? Let's stick to subject at hand, you a.d.d is showing
  7. Watching the girls 4x100 that was a disgusting hand off, who taught them to receive a hand off that way? My Special Olympic kids work with a simple hand-off that is so much more efficient than that. the coaches should be shot!!! Attention USOC: I am offering you my services to teach your coaches and athletes the proper technique in receiving a proper hand-off. My consultant fee is reasonable 50K one time price. I will return that money if you fail to win the gold.
  8. Bryan Clay is looking great the decatholon. If he wins it will he or the gymnast be on the Wheaties box first? I thought I heard Phelps will be on the Kellogs box?
  9. that was the unluckiest match that i've ever seen. especially the last 10 minutes, the us girls were just walking around while brazil was bombarding the keeper. i'm not saying that they didn't try, they did for most of the game, but they got extremely lucky. they were outplayed in every facet, they weren't as skilled and they obviously weren't as fit. God must be pissed at the brazilians for only having first names or something. the first 90 min. is the reason soccer won't take off in the US. the last ten minutes was great and is exactly any coach would have played the game with the existing rules. They need to get rid of the off sides whisle to make it a bit more interesting. anyways... do you disagree? I'm pretty positive that no soccer fan here (or elsewhere) would agree that getting rid of offsides is a good idea but if you are going to sell this game to anybody in the US you need to induce some type of excitement in scoring. Why else do you think they get rowdy at Euro games they are bored to death and drunk. Though that is just the opinion of 299 million Americans

  11. I noticed that when Li Hongyang was introduced they specifically mentioned her age as 18. Rhythmic gymnastic is something they can get rid of

  13. women win gold in soccer and it was a heck of a 30 min. overtime. But now that they won three in a row and are dominant do they eliminate it from the Olympics like softball?
  14. Did I miss something?
  15. crap team USA you looked like the cubs of the 1970's.
  16. she spread her mom's ashes on the sand.....that is cool, unless you are the guys going to play tomorrow for the gold
  17. "give the governor a huruumph, Hurumph!!"
  18. Got a perplexing question. Why doesn't the sand stick to these four wet bodies? I've lived in the Caribbean and on the North coast of Ohio and every time I would sweat or get wet the sand would stick to me. Has these athletes figured out the how to defy the physics of adheres-ion or is there some special spray they use, If so what is it?
  19. Stride  better yet stride length
  20. Needs a battery of drug tests ASAP. There is no way anyone should be winning races by jogging while everyone else is busting a blood vessel running as hard as they can I do find it interesting that, as they were saying on the broadcast, Bolt and Spearman were very even runners for years and then - all of a sudden - Bolt gets a whole lot faster than Spearman. Not accusing him, but something seems odd with that. last year at the world championships, tyson gay EASILY beat bolt in the 200m finals. this is when bolt had a reason to run hard, staring at tyson's back, and bolt couldn't have run faster than a 19.85. now, all of the sudden, a year later, he's running that race a half second faster and coasting to victory. there's no way, there's just no way. Bolt is about to turn 22 whereas Tyson Gay just turned 26. I'm not guaranteeing he's clean by any means but couldn't some of it just be getting stronger and better as he gets older? I watched the 200 meters WC five times and the 200 Olym. 10 times. Bolt had one sucky start in the WC, he stood straight up in the block, I have hs kids start better. Tyson is known for a good start especially the first 15 meters and a great finish after 120 meters. Bolt has refined his block skills and has learned to run a turn very well. His arm speed in the olympics, around the corner, is much faster than the WC, thus producing greater leg length out onto the straight-a-way
  21. He wrestled well considering wrestling is one of the only sports that you don't peak until mid-30's
  22. logan tom is def not hot...buttaface maybe, but that's the extent of it. She's certainly not your "classic beauty," that's for sure. the pole vaulters are the best!
  23. all righty, women's water polo...those darn horses can sure hold their breath for a long time.
  24. anyone watch wrestling last night? US looking pretty good at the lower weights. I am thinking that the Jamacians just throw kids to the sharks if they have slow twitch muscle.
  25. that's kind of a stretch. I haven't seen it in a while, but I think the metaphor is much more general than that. The ants have their own ordered society, so they don't really fit into a strict "proletariat" mold, and the grasshoppers or katydids or whatever those things are don't wear culottes, so they clearly aren't the bourgeoisie. either way, it's a tired metaphor Monsters Inc. ftw By 1848 no one was wearing culottes. Worker ants unite to overthrow their useless overlords. Then they start an ideallistic society that thrives and makes unbriddled progress. Flick's epiphany is the very embodiment of class consciousness. or it could be an entertaining kids movie we all liked.
