  1. He's all or nothing at this point. He either scorches the ball or he looks terrible at the plate.
  2. Marquis isn't frustrating, he just sucks. We knew that coming in. Soriano and Hill are struggling because of how mind numbingly stupid they both are. Hill drives me nuts. He was more worried about getting his shoes cleaned tonight instead of worrying about getting hitters out. He needs to see a therapist or something.
  3. He has absolutely no right to be up on the big league team.
  4. Serious question: why does Rocky Cherry keep getting chances? He's terrible. he had a decent spring, but has been horrible ever since.
  5. When you've got GMs like Hendry and Krivskey involved, it might. Our GM just said last week that he'd look to see how the offense does the upcoming week to see if we need to add a bat or not. I wouldn't put it past Hendry to bring up Murton to showcase him for a couple days.
  6. Didn't Bruce just say the other day that it's not going to happen? Maybe things have changed a little bit since we looked like crap again Cy Looper last night. We all know Hendry goes day to day on how he feels about this team.
  7. How are we showcasing him if he's on the bench? Just showing the Reds how well he can behave while sitting quietly on the bench.
  8. I'd walk the 7 blocks to Wrigley with my pitchfork if he did.
  9. What is three games going to show the Reds, especially since he's not even starting tonight? mlbtraderumors says Levine mentioned any deal would probably involve Gallagher and Murton.
  10. Sounds like you might have had your own little version of "The Crying Game."
  11. Ryan Braun vs. crappy lefty = 3+ homeruns tonight.
  12. Payton is not in his walk year first of all-he also has another year left on his contract. Payton has had 0 seasons in the last 4 over a 95 OPS+, Jones has had 2. Jones has the better chance to rebound to be something pretty good, while Payton is simply an expensive bench player at this point. If you look at 08 (when Floyd will almost certainly not be re-signed) who would you rather have as the 4th OF? I don't think it's a terrible deal for the Cubs, but it's not a good deal either. Is everyone just ignoring my second edit? Are we expected to just keep going back to re-read your posts because you decide to edit them over and over again?
  13. Payton's not in his walk year. Nor does he get on base at a decent clip. His career OBP against lefties isn't even .350. Check my edits. He's not in his walk year. He's signed through 2008.
  14. This brings out the same emotions I had when I found out the Cubs signed Burnitz.
  15. Not everyone's married.
  16. Didn't you watch the game last night? Kendall is on fire now. No need for Soto.
  17. Meh. I wouldn't take that quote too seriously. I'm guessing it's just a tactic to try and lower trade demands. Hendry will make at least 1 more trade before the deadline. It might not be a big trade, but he's going to add someone.
  18. :? Knowing the Cubs, Murton probably has from now until Monday to perform, and if he doesn't, they will make a trade. "You got 3 days kid, or I'm gonna trade you for Fred McGriff."
  19. I'm guessing Floyd is hurt, so that's why they're bringing up Murton. Cedeno is the backup at this point unless Theriot starts to slump. I have no idea why Soto isn't up. He should be the starting catcher.
