Davidson is taking too much criticism over this one. Hall wasn't bringing back an early 3rd by himself. He wasn't bringing back a useful player either. The money for Rantanen is irrelevant since it is coming off the books at the end of the season. We as fans can talk about what player may or may not be on the board at a given draft slot but the reality is that we aren't on the floor or a part of those conversations. I am of the belief that you can never have too much draft capital. It opens up trade avenues. Options are good.

The Stars may have lost Heiskanen for a while. They were one of the teams Jones said he would accept a trade to before he came to the Hawks. Whether their cap situation allows that move is another matter.

Hall wasn't coming back and that 3rd was max value for him.

Edmonds has always been complimentary of his time with the Cubs. All these years later he still looks weird in the blue pinstripes.

Buffalo play calling was terrible. The refusal to abandon the tush push when it was clear that it wasn't working cost them the most important drive of the game. Cook only touching the ball four times in the 1st half was also inexcusable. He gashed the Chiefs every time he touched the ball. Allen had his worst game of the season. He looked like young Josh at times. Very skittish. Wild throws. The Bills had no answer for Spagnuolo's blitz packages. The losses of Rapp and Benford were significant. This one was closer than it probably should have been.

Some of the peripherals on Jansen are trending slightly in the wrong direction but there's enough swing and miss stuff still there that I wouldn't be disappointed to bring him in for a year.
