  1. Varies by state. In my state, the formula for child support is based on the income differential. If he had no income and she had any income at all, the formula would require her to pay him child support (provided they shared custody). That doesn't mean that she can't demand a chunk of his wealth to take care of the kid or that the court wouldn't order it, but that falls under division of assets rather than child support.
  2. It's a coin toss. If Happ starts at second Kemp becomes your primary lefty pinch hitter, which for me doesn't inspire any more confidence than Happ's defense at second. With a normal bench I'd agree with you, but for the next 11 days I think I like Kemp starting at second.
  3. They have a track record going back to 03 that is pretty phenomenal. You can argue about bringing Russell, Chapman and Murphy in but it is very hard to argue against their baseball results. I also wouldnt have gave a horsefeathers if they got rid of Russell, but they I absolute understand the approach to try to help him rehabilitate his life as well. His ex was even in full support of it as well. His ex could either support the decision or collect child support from Russell's salary working at Burger King. Not a tough decision. That's just what I was thinking. She has a vested interest in him not being in jail.
  4. Fixed it for you.
  5. So every team doesn't carry 14 pitchers? :D Seriously, my guess is that they wanted Cishek back right away and the only pitcher with options is Wick who's pitching well which means they had to send down a position player to make room for him. They probably saw Bote as both the most expendable and the most likely to benefit from some regular playing time at Iowa.
  6. No, as I understand it if he's still on the restricted list at the deadline he's eligible.
  7. Garcia and Russell being sent down happened. I'd anticipate seeing him in the lineup pretty steadily now that Russell is up.
  8. They would have been better off bringing in Al Holland.
  9. Those stats look nice. But this isn't Statis Pro Baseball; at the end of the day all that really matters is that they win more games than they lose, and that's something they've struggled with on the road all year. On paper we should be running away with this division, not locked in a tight pennant race with the Brewers and Cardinals.
  10. The Pirates have given up. Their playing as badly as anyone in baseball right now. Even the Road Cubs?!? The Road Cubs aren't playing all that badly right now. Of course, they aren't playing at all right now because the game doesn't start for another 5 hours and 20 minutes. But I'll take what I can get.
  11. I thought he is not replaceable because of his otherworldly defense and that -3 DRS this year and +6 for his career? Albert is our best CF, but he can't hit worth a damn vs RHP. Are you under the impression that he hits any better vs LHP? Almora vs. RHP: .258/.288/.452 Almora vs. LHP: .210/.248/.280
  12. Dont be horsefeathering stupid. He was sent down because he is an abuser. If it was as simple as that he wouldn't have been called up in the first place.
  13. So you animals are happy food is being taken off his children's plates so a billionaire can save some money? I'm fairly confident that Geoffreye O'Neal Addison Robert Watts Jr III's children aren't starving, but I'm sure that their baby mamas appreciate your concern.
  14. Zobrist will likely be called up before then so he's eligible for the playoff roster. He's already eligible for the playoff roster. I see that now. I didn't realize players on the restricted list were eligible, I thought they had to be on the 40-man roster.
  15. He will be on the Cubs the same time they call up Russell when the rosters expand Zobrist will likely be called up before then so he's eligible for the playoff roster.
  16. They could just DFA Tony Kemp like Houston did. Kemp is over 2 years older than Russell, a far less defender with a lower MLB OPS. You know, you could just cut to the chase and say "I don't want anyone on the team who might take playing time away from Albert Almora."
  17. So to summarize, you're suggesting the Cubs would have been better off the last two weeks starting the guy with the .964 OPS at AAA over the guy with the 1.041 OPS at the ML level?
  18. Question I don't have the answer to. Did Happ really need to work on things, and did he work on those things and that's why he's productive so far? Or is Ian Happ the same Ian Happ as he's always been and should have been up here the whole time if he's up here now? I don't think we know yet. Happ has always been a streaky hitter who has performed at this level over the course of 15 games a handful of times throughout his career. Time will tell if we're seeing a new, improved Ian Happ or if we're just catching him on a hot streak. But even if it is a new Happ it's hard to know if the time at AAA really played a part or not.
  19. [alt] 242 ≤ is [alt]243 Neat trick! ...although he did totally underline a greater than at the start of the thread. Yeah, I noticed that when I went back and looked after I posted.
