    The Nico deal surprises me a bit. I thought they’d let him go next year via free agency and then just let Shaw slide into second base for five years plus. He is much much much cheaper.

    This is good news. From my research when they call it a strain it’s usually 1-3 weeks recovery.

    If anything Happ is underrated. Good D and consistent O. He has a WTF moment every once in a while in the field but so does PCA who might be the best D player in baseball. Who has a better WAR in left field over the last three years?

    It’s a good question - who is the backup CF? Not a lot of good answers. Shaw? Really? Suzuki would scare me every time the ball was hit out of the infield.

    Dodgers, Brewers and Phillies have to be ahead of us in most forecasts. But I agree - if we get one of Bich or Breg we can certainly compete!!

    I still don't understand why opt outs are so bad? It's not a trade. You are giving up nothing. Wouldn't we rather have a player for one year than none? It's more about if this person will hit or not as a player, isn't it?
